About 14 yrs ago while pregnant I had to use Lovenox. My doctor then ordered it with an injector pen. I must have thrown the pen away thinking I would not need it again. Since then the pharmacists say there is not such a device for Lovenox now and the have not heard of one in existence..
Has anyone else used an injector pen? If so, how and where did you get it?

From what I could gather, apparently the auto inj. pen is like having a "pre-filled" syringe. It's described as being a pen-like device that keeps the needle point shielded before administering the dose.

I've seen similar products go by the name of "autoject 2"...and if you google "auto inj.", there are also a number of sites who offer what I would imagine to be comparable alternatives to what you described.

I'm under the impression that even if it's not made for a specific medication, their dosing measurements may be universal.

I hope this helps!

The ejector was discontinued with the manufacturing of the new self containing needle. A new pharmacist or doctor would not know about them. Some small town hospitals may still order.
