Hi,
I usually take 30mg of adderal per day, in the morning. I am making a switch to amphetamine salts. They are the blue tablets, and I was wondering if anyone knows how many I wouldn't have to take to get the same effect? 30mg dosent let me sleep at night but I need close to that many mg to get me through the day. The doctor suggest I switch to this for my sleeping. Can someone please help me out.

I'm not sure of the difference but I'm sure your Dr could explain.
I know it's all very addicting.

@Juliana,

I would encourage you to ask your doctor for a recommendation on proper dosing to achieve a necessary effect; after-all, s/he is the one suggesting such a change in the first place. At the same time, no one truly knows your body as well as you do and how the medications you take affect you. That said, I think prudent judgement and caution should be always be taken when making any adjustments for the purpose of finding out what works and what doesn't.

Also, from what I've researched, Adderall contains a combination of the following "Mixed Amphetamine Salts": Dextroamphetamine Saccharate + Amphetamine Aspartate + Dextroamphetamine Sulfate + Amphetamine Sulfate.

It sounds to me like the "Amphetamine Salts" you're describing may simply be referring to a generic version of the same medication? And if that's so, something to take into consideration is that generic drugs aren't necessarily created equally to their brand name counterparts. It could be that they contain up to 20% less active ingredients (a variable that the FDA allegedly allows in generic drugs). There may also be a different set of binders/fillers that impact bioavailability. With this in mind, many people do prefer brand name drugs for their consistency, but it's not to say that a generic version won't work well for you.

I hope this helps!
