why is the oval peach B973 amphetamine mixed salts 20mg not as effective as the round orange E401 amphetamine mixed 20mg? i have to take 3 of the B973 to even feel a slight of a boost and it doesnt last but an hour or two. but with the E401 i take 1 or 2 and feel the boost faster and it lasts for at least four hours. is it just the pharmacey you choose has the differant type? or is it in the perscription your doctor writes?

It could be just a slight difference in the generics. Under U.S. Federal law, generics are allowed to differ from their name brand counterparts by as much as plus or minus 20%. They consider this an acceptable therapeutic window, because it is considered minuscule and does not affect most people.

However, there are some people that can have problems with this variation in medications.

This, if you were taking something that had the full amount of the active ingredient that it is supposed to, then suddenly get a different generic that doesn't, you may not be getting the amount of the medication that your body is used to.

You can always ask your pharmacy if they can get it the one made by the other company, or call around and see if another pharmacy carries it.
