Amoxicillin For Gum Infection

I have a gum infection because I have a bad tooth that needs to be pulled. The dentist prescribed me Amoxicillin 875 mg. I'm just wondering how long will it take for my gums to return back to normal. I've been taking the pills for 7 days and I have 3 days left.

The general rule for antibiotics is that you should start to see improvement after taking them for a full 3 days. If you still have swelling, it may not be the right one to treat the infection you have and you may need to ask about taking something else.

When are you having the tooth extracted? It would be best to do it after the infection has improved, otherwise it may not numb properly.

As rightlly said by Verwon, at seven days you shud ave had an improvement if not complete healing. Amoxy is the drug of choice for dental abscess. As a general assumption, any dental cavity that presents swelling likely indicates an infection which need to be treated before tooth extraction. The advice is to see your Dentist again for further examination and possible change of medication

Yes my tooth broke in half on a Thursday and by Sunday morning I woke to my face being swollen. I went to the dentist and they gave me 875mg of amoxicillin. I just want to know how long will it be to start seeing some results? And what to rinse my mouth out with I've been using mouth wash but it seem like its making it worst.

How do you know if the Amoxicillin really works for your tooth infection and do it work for other common infections i was prescribed 500mg for 10days 8hrs but lately no pain just makes me really sleepy and when the dentist pull my tooth on my set appointment will i be drug or put to sleep doing the process

After completing 7days and can i wait for 2 months to pull off my teeth, because right now i dont have insurance, after 2 months i will get insurance . please suggest me
