This tablet contains Amoxicillin 500mgs and Clavulanate Potassium 25mgs, it is an antibiotic, generic for Augmentin.

This is a combination antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections (such as urinary tract, respiratory, sinus infections, dental, etc). It's usually pretty effective but there are some rare side effects which may occur. These include nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, and a possible skin rash. You most likely won't experience these but just keep an eye on how you feel and report them to your prescriber. I actually had to switch off these at one time because my energy level was totally sapped so my doc put me on Penicillin instead which seemed to be more well tolerated. He explained that while antibiotics work well at killing bacterial infections, they may also kill the good bacteria that lives in your body as a result. (sort of like how chemo kills both cancer and good cells). He suggested that I eat yogurt during the day or take a probiotic supplement such as Culturelle. That did seem to help after a few days.
