Some side effects of the use of amlodipine may be:

Very often: peripheral edema (feet and ankles) - in 1 of 10 users
Often: dizziness; palpitations; muscle-, stomach- or headache; dyspepsia; nausea - in 1 in 100 users
Sometimes: blood disorders, development of breasts in men (gynecomastia), impotence, depression, insomnia, tachycardia, gingival enlargement - in 1 in 1,000 users,
Rarely: erratic behavior, hepatitis, jaundice - in 1 in 10,000 users
Very rarely: hyperglycemia, tremor, Stevens-Johnson syndrome - in 1 in 100,000 users

I have been taking Amlodipine Besylate 5mg. for just over a week and I think it is causing me to feel some anxiety/anxiousness. Has anyone else had this experience?

I was prescribed Stamlo 5 mg for me, daily dose, for high blood pressure. Its an Amlodipine molecular structure. I was advised by a Dental Surgeon the Amlopdipine molecular structure is causing me problems leading to "Drug induced gingival enlargement" or, enlarged gums. The Dental Surgeon has suggested that I should opt for a LOSSAR molecular structure for an inhibitor. And, I should also discuss the dosage.

All other details are 100% ok, Perfect cholesterol, blood sugar, platelets, lipds etc. Also 2-D echo and stress test. Even blood pressure was normal. The blood pressure and pulse rate went up from 120-80 + 82 to 190-140 + 160 in 8 minutes and then dropped back to 130-80 + 90 in 3 minutes.

Should I continue with Stamlo or change the medication.
