Alprazolam Dava Xanax - The Worst! (Top voted first)

Dava Xanax 0.5 mg SUCKS! They're yellow ovals marked with an S and 901. They've been sued by Justice department in the past (2010) for distributing drugs that were half strength. We normally take 1.5 mg qd, but are allocated #3 tabs 0.5 mg qd. Even taking #3 we had no effect. What ever company makes oval peach coloured tabs have always been efficacious. Dava, a repackager of generics needs examination by DEA & US Attorney—they can analyze the crap we were given.

The Dava brand of alprazolam is much weaker and ineffective compared to other generic brands, or the trade brand. It is a poor quality pill which causes people to take stronger doses when they could be taking a quality generic at a lower dose. I've filed a complaint with the FDA and am requesting they test the pills. Waiting for a response.

I think the assortment of feedback here just goes to show that everyone truly does react and respond differently. That said, there's no right or wrong opinion as to how good or bad it works, and each user experience should probably be taken with a grain of salt upon considering whether a certain manufacturer's brand is right for you. On one hand I do agree that inactive ingredients (which don't seem to be nearly as regulated) may play a big role in quality control from one company to the next, but singling out a version that works well for you through trial and error still sounds like the best approach as long as your doctor is willing to specify your preferred manufacturer on the prescription so you can continue getting it.

You are definitely correct I just got my 1 mg Alprazolam filled at CVS and I got the Sandoz brand blue oval GG 258 and they are the best so is Greenstone G 3721 I had several issues over the past few years with Dava 1 mg they are garbage.

I agree. I noticed during the first week that it wasn't working so I called the pharmacy and was told they have to sell that kind because it's cheaper. That's bs.

I noticed a difference between the Sandoz generic and Dava Alprazolam—and Dava is weaker. In fact I thought it might even have no ingredients it was so ineffective. I'm only talking about .05 mg., but I could tell after taking for 7 years. My pharmacy switched and can't special order the Sandoz anymore. I'm thinking of calling around to find a Pharmacy that does carry Sandoz. This is the second time this has happened and It's bogus.

The products I've had from Dava have been acceptable with no problems here. Currently working on some Dava Bars and find them quite strong for medicine that expired in 2012

Right. However, you can certainly report any medications you feel are not as advertised to the FDA.

I went to cvs pharmcy they gave me the dava .5 xanax milligrams weren't nearly as strong as the atavis brand I've been taking for years how can they get away with less strength drugs I started to withdrawal

Have you googled DAVA Pharmaceutical? The Internet is FULL of numerous legal suits against DAVA.

So I found a mom & pop (neighborhood) Pharmacy and they could order the Sandoz brand directly, but said my insurance would only go for the cheapest. (Dava) HOWEVER they said you could just pay for it instead of the co-pay. Bingo! it's $20 for the 60 - 0.5mg tablets. Considering the alternative of brands that didn't work properly, I'm happy to pay for the better Rx.

That’s what I did. I switched to a pharmacy that’s privately owned, not a franchise... I have been taking Xanax for a long time and within a week of the Dava crap I noticed a major difference.

I'm not saying that Dava Pharma is or isn't a horrible drug manufacturer. All I wanted to get at was that despite there being legal suits and people reporting negative experiences, there are still those individuals who say it works just fine for them (post #1 for example). One person's nightmare drug could be another's savior. Unfortunately there's really no way of knowing until you try it…Other than perhaps DNA sampling through a lab?

DAVA Alprazolam is garbage. They are a joke and should be taken off the market. They made me physically ill. I was on Greenstone for years with never a problem. So all at once CVS stores run out of all Alprazolam. They replaced the Greenstone lab pills with DAVA. Yea to make a extra buck $. Trust me, don't buy DAVA because you will regret it. Better off buying a sugar pill.

I have been taking the yellow 2mg Alprazolam for 10 years and it’s a generic and no problems. Sams switched my last script to the Dava brand with green 2mg bars....ATTENTION!!!! These green 2mg bars are total crap...they do NOT WORK. I have used nothing but generics since 2006 and never a problem. For the last month I have wrestled with the effects of days without sleep and horrible withdrawal symptoms for over a month before doing my research online. This pill has NO effect whatsoever... Thanks to everyone for posting. Just google their legal history. Shame on Sams for even offering such an inferior product. There are negative posts and reviews as far back as 2010 so the data is out there just search.

We must remember everyone might be talking about different forms of DAVA Alprazolam and yes there might be a bad batch out there. No financial incentive in making medicine that doesn't meet FDA standards. I am a 30 year user and I find their 2 mg bar to be a very strong pill. I never take that much at once as the medicine can be most addictive leading to withdrawal problems which can be life threatening.

You can't sue a generic drug maker because you feel the pill isn't to your liking. The Dava legal suit was for misreporting drug prices in order to reduce its Medicaid Drug Rebate obligations.
