You shouldn't have to worry about a fake pill when you're obtaining your medication legitimately through a real pharmacy.

A white rectangular pill marked with "G 372 2" (the G being octagonal as Jake mentioned), is in fact a real 2mg Alprazolam tablet manufactured by Greenstone, with a National Drug Code of 59762-3722. You can also verify its legitimacy by comparing the size of the real pill (which is reported to be approx. 15.00 mm).

I hope this helps anyone else who may be looking for additional information on what they have.

Greenstone make the ONLY generic alprazolam in the USA which is acceptable quality to Europeans. In general, that country has the worst alprazopam in the world bar perhaps Pakistan. The most-dispensed make in the States, Sandoz 'GG 249', really are dreadful, feeling about half the stated 2mg strength; I would rather stick to Pfizer Xanax/Xanor or Gador Alplax - I have had six or seven different US generics and not a single one except those G3722 Greenstone were any use whatsoever. Even since Actavis took over Purepac, their yellow P039 pills are still as poor as ever. Think yourself lucky, you are getting the only reasonable generic in the US! They are not far off the Pfizer brand name tablets in quality and potency.

UPDATE: Received 'Qualitest V2090 2mg x 10' yesterday. I can honestly say that being one that I had never before tried, these are probably next best generic to Greenstone. I found they worked just fine, though they do not seem to be QUITE as potent as the G3722s. Certainly, unlike any of the others, Mylan being head and shoulders the worst, these Qualitest bars are acceptable quality. I will now be able to say that there are TWO generic alps from the US which are up to the standard expected by European consumers!
