My daughter is allergic to penicillin, can she take amoxicillin?

Neither of you should take this drug.Notice how both of the spelling ends with (cillin) .
Allergies can be deadly, Why would you want to possibly KILL your daughter and yourself. Do yourself a favor and go to your doctor. ( Don't try this at home )
Antibotics should never be self admin. That is how we get SUPER BUGS like MRSA.

These medications are related, however, not all allergies cross over, some people can safely use Amoxicillin when they are allergic to Penicillin and vice/versa, however, it is a risk.

Have you spoken to your doctor or pharmacist about this? Are they aware of the allergy?

I am allergic to many things, including Penicillin, yet my Dr. gave me an Rx Amoxicillan with Clavulanate (500-125) . Can I safely take this?

If it not very serious, an antihistamine can be used to counteract the allergic reaction
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug like ibuprofen or aspirin can also be used to reduce inflammation. But it is best to consult an immunologist before you apply any.

First of all you don't get MRSA from having an allergic reaction to a medication, MRSA is a form of blood poisoning that comes from a cut getting infected or from duty instruments being used doing surgery. I am a Medical Assistant!

It was mentioned that taking antibiotics without a doctors approval is dangerous. That in miss using antibiotics can create a super bug. A strain that has been able to live and possibly even grow stronger after it's repeated exposure to antibiotics. This does not effect only the individual using. But the entire population. The best way I can describe this is. These are living organisms and are capable of LEARNING so to speak. Lot's of time and money go into finding ways to fight these invisible night mare's. So when you take antibiotics without a good reason. You are arming them with more powerful weapons every time. They not only become your enemy. But that of the entire world. So please don't give the enemies our secrets.
