Zubsolv, Suboxone, Buprenorphine / Naloxone

Updated

I have been on Zubsolv, Suboxone, of all doses, for years now. I have reached the point to where my Zubsolv will take literally hours to dissolve and once it finally does dissolve to some extent..enough for me to swallow at least, I have no way of getting it to completely dissolve. So I have to eat with the medicine still very much still in my mouth and throat. Despite using extra water, to try and help the process along, etc. This takes up a great deal of my mornings. Plus I have crohns disease and have much difficulty swallowing in the first place. So I'm simply unable to get anything down. All the way or even more than just past my throat. I have diarrhea as well with this medication and have had many bowel blockages that I have no doubt are due in part to the way the swallowed Zubsolv metabolizes or does not once in the gut..making my inflammatory syndrome that much worse. Does anyone else have this problem with Zubsolv? Or know of anything similar? I've been on pain killers for many many years prior to the 4 years I've been on Zubsolv. Also the naloxone or partial agonist properties of it make me super anxious. Zubsolv was a godsend at first but now I feel as though I'm going crazy more than not. Anyone who has any comment...please share your thoughts with me. I'm just really unsure of what to do right now. It's the focus of my life now.

Hi you are talking about the subzolv omneal orange tabs the ones with the AN 415 on them. If so I just started taking them after taking the white round tabs with the half moon on one side and the 155 on the other. I'm allergic to the strips and the narcan In it. So I have always gotten the tabs. But recently my insurance switched my pharmacy and now I'm getting the subzolv orange tabs AN 415 their brand is omneal. And I'm having problems with them to. i been on the tabs for a long time. So I have had times where I have had that problem. My advice is if their taking so long to dissolve. My advice The best thing to do that really works wonders helps them Disolve quickly while still getting the full affect and not waiting them by having to swallow them after a while is this and believe me it will get rid of your problem as soon as you wake up and need to take one put it under your tongue and jump in the shower a hot shower it's perfect your body will warm up in the shower which will quickly disolve the tab under your tongue quickly getting full affect plus you will be getting ready for the day at the same time works for ne. Good luck hope this helps

Do not listen to the other person’s advice, as taking a shower or getting the exterior of your body wet will NOT help anything inside of your mouth/body dissolve faster! The only thing that will help is by taking a sip of water right before you place the tablet underneath your tongue.
I don’t understand how Crohn’s Disease affects your ability to swallow. Crohn’s is a gastrointestinal disease that is caused by inflammation and scarring of the intestines, which has absolutely nothing to do with your throat or how you swallow.

You cant swallow zubsolv it wont work it has to dissolve under your tongue only. I have been on 5.7 1.4 for 8 years twice a day and I would usually put under my tongue on the way to work while driving and on my way home because I have up to an hour drive to work in traffic. I could not talk or sing or even answer the phone or it would waste most of my pill. Well lately I have been getting unhappy, head aches, red faced and I know its this med. So I went cold turkey 4 weeks ago because every time I tell my doc I don't want to take no more they try and talk me into staying on. I'm telling you know its been hell. I'm still trying and I haven't slipped once I will do this. If some one asked me now about suboxone or zubsolv I would tell them don't do it!

Re: Judy (# 2) Expand Referenced Message

Wrong! From a Physician, I will now tell you why. Crohn's Disease is not just affecting the intestines as you said, it can affect ALL of the GI tract which starts at your mouth! Just as the saliva produced under the tongue contains chemicals to 1) stimulate gastric acid in the stomach for digestion 2) helps breakdown food/materials whilst in the mouth before swallowing. Also some patients get mouth sores, and Crohn's of the esophagus and/or appendix! This is why people should consult their Physicians rather than listen to a google or wiki educated person. smh

I would get your Thyroid checked if you haven't been diagnosed with Crohn's of the esophagus. Opioids, even partial agonists like Buprenorphine can lower the output of T3 & T4, just as they lower many hormones as well. Stay active, check with your GP on getting a Thyroid panel done, and a Naloxone sensitivity test if possible, if you are hypersensitive to Naloxone it can cause the swallowing issues and Gastrointestinal issues and more!
