I've been taking the perscription drug Ziac for hypertension for 2 months. In the last week I have developed bad heartburn. Is it o.k. to take Pepcid Complete while taking Ziac? ## It is perfectly safe to take Pepcid or any other type of antacid with Ziac; however, you really should read the indications and interactions. Ziac 5/6.25 mg Mylan Generic l have been taking this medication about 3 yrs now and become therapeutic, but 2 months ago l went to walmart for refill and was given Unichem generic which l have being reacting badly to it. CVS told me they have it, l switched but only gave me 15 days worth and now saying is back ordered or may be discontiuned. What is the common name for Biso Fum/Hct 5-6.25 mg.? Is this 2 drugs as a nurse indicated? ## The name brand for it is Ziac and yes, it's a combination of two active medications, Bisoprolol and Hydrochlorothiazide. Is Ziac medication will damage my heart in a long run, my pulse rate before was between 60 and 70. Now that I'm taking this Ziac for my high blood pressure my pulse rate is between 47 and 55 usually it's low in the morning. My ex-husband was taking Ziac also for his high blood pressure and his pulse rate become so low from 44 down to 38, he went to the emergency room right away and the doctor decided to put a pacemaker connected to his heart. ## Hello, Rose! I was given blue round pills with M on one side and 503 on the other. This was mistakenly given to me by the pharmacy instead of my generic for Ziac which is white with 501 on it. Is there any reason why name brand Ziac has been unavailable for the last 8 months? I was on the 10/6.5 dosage and it worked perfectly. The generic does not work as well with negligible results. I contacted Teva and all they say is it's on long term back order. ## I can't find any information on the shortage, they aren't required to report it to the FDA, so there is nothing listed there. Have you tried any alternative medications?

Both of the medication labels indicate that they interact with one another but neither my doctor or pharmacist warned against?! ## Sometimes, your doctor and pharmacist have to weigh the benefits against the risks of using certain medications, together. The main reason they advise against using these together is because Adderall can actually raise your blood pressure. this site is not medical professionals, however, your doctor may not be concerned about your using them together if your blood pressure is not severely high or is under control.
