I was taking Micardis tablets with no problems until my Kidney specialist changed me to Zanidip.(something to do with calcium levels) but since then I started feeling unwell started with ear pain and inflammation of the throat glands now it's like I'm having an immune reaction to everything. I changed to Amlodipine tablets with no relief, went on a strict low histamine diet with no relief so brings me back to these calcium channel blockers. I have very painful legs when in bed. It's so painful that I'm not able to sleep. I've been taking this med for four weeks now. Is this a common problem when taking Lercanidipine? Thanks. ## Hello, Sally! How are you? If it's only while you're in bed, then it may be due to Restless Leg Syndrome, rather than the medication. The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Are you on any other medications? Does the pain ease, if you move your legs, or get up and walk around? ## Yes it is. I had a ‘holiday’ from this medication for a while and the leg pains disappeared. On resuming the medication they came back again. I agree they are not very nice pains.

I wake up during the night needing to urinate and have a very dry mouth. Hi I was on Amloc 10mg daily for years and my BP was well controlled. Over the years though i started experiencing serious hair loss. I was put on Zanidip 10mg daily. After 3 weeks my doctor decided to increase the dose to 20mg daily as my BP was higher than it should be. After commencing the increased dosage i started experiencing rapid heart beat and palpitations. dizziness, breathlesness and a feeling that I had an elephant on my chest . Doctor suggested splitting the dose and taking 10mg in the morning and 10 at night. This has improved the situation but is not perfect. I have been taking this med for 4 weeks, and find I am getting more and more constipated (never have been before ) is this common?? ## Since taking Zanidip (with Lisipronil) I have extremely dry skin, leg rashes and increasing muscle weakness. Does Zanidip deplete Potassium levels and should I take a Potassium supplement? ## I was prescribed Zanidip 20mg. That said, yes, they do commonly cause blurred vision, as well as headache, nausea and joint/muscle aches. My husband is taking the following medications: Olmetec 40mg + Zanidip 10mg + Plavix 75mg + Lasix 40mg + Cartia aspirin 100mg; 1 each morning. He is also taking: 2 Panadol Osteo 5mg x 3 times daily + 1 Pregabalin 25mg + 1 Vytorin 10/40mg at night. All prescribed by his GP. He had a triple bypass in 2014; stents 1 in Feb, 2 in Nov 2016; Radical prostectomy for cancer in 2006; Radiation for secondary cancers in 2009; Neurosurgery for a subdural hemorrhage in 2013. He has had breathing problems and used inhalers off and on for 4 years (is now off these). He does have asbestos fibers in his lungs, but thankfully no major problems there. But he is having problems with tiredness throughout the day and is constantly sleeping. Is this due to the mixture of drugs he is on now?

Took Zanidip for only 11 days and stopped (under dr advice) due to severe swelling in my feet, ankles and lower legs. So much so that my shoes did not fit and it feels like the whole area is bruised. Has anyone else experienced this? I have stopped meds for 4 days and the swelling has not gone down - I am getting worried that this may be permanent. I am not sure whether the allergy I have could be caused by the intake of Ziak and/or Zanidip. I continually have a sore mouth something similar to cold sores, I also tend to get a sore throat, twice I have had my tongue swell during the night which was very stressful and i have itchiness on my body in patches even my scalp itches which my GP has informed me is an allergy. Pritor side effects. What a nightmare. Had to stop taking Pritor as after 2 weeks started getting severe headaches, nausea, dizziness to the extent that I could not drive my car. The worse was that I had an increase in my blood pressure. I am back on Zanidip.

i am taking Zanidip in the morning but then my face starts flushing on and off during the day.i was wondering if i could take it at night so the flushing would occur during the night i also take tenormin in the morning. both my husband and I suffer from restless legs(we call it the fidgets, unable to keep legs still , starts early evening can continue for several hours. being as we both suffer could it be some of the medication we both take vasten,zanidip,voltaren, am trying vitamin b12 and magnesium ## My husband also suffers from the restless leg syndrome and also pain in this legs. i am on ZANIDIP 10mg. i notice that my BP comes back after 10 hours. what shall i do ## the strength of ZANIDIP diminishes within 12 hours.say your pressure was 160/75 when zanidip was taken at8am The pressure drops to about 115/65 by 1pm. However, by 8pm the same day the pressure would go up to160/75 .Do I take another pill to reduce the pressure. ## Have you consulted your doctor? You should do so, before adjusting your medication. Zanidip contains the active ingredient Lercanidipine and while it can help lower blood pressure, it also normal for your blood pressure to fluctuate throughout the day, especially when undergoing certain activities, such as exercise, or sex. my doctor told me to take 10mg zanidip every second day he thinks 5mg are not avalible in ireland i need to take 5mg a day ## Zanidip contains the active ingredient Lercanidipine and, from what I've found, it's listed as only being available in 10 and 20mg tablets. However, as long as it isn't time released, it should be okay to cut them in half. Or is there some reason your doctor doesn't want you to do so?

Could Zanidip be causing leg cramps at night. I am either up with leg cramps or up to the toilet. I drink 2 lts of water a day, and if that drops even the smallest bit, the cramps get worse. I am about to take my first Zanidip and I was wondering what the real common side effects are, also is there anywhere you can get it alot cheaper.
