My husband and I have had our daughter, which is now 30, tested for everything and the doctors can't seem to be able to give us a diagnosis, and things are not getting any better. My beautiful daughter has struggled and suffered so much and it breaks my heart to know that the Yutopar that was given to me, affected my baby. My daughter is the one who suffers from it on a daily basis. My second child is normal, and I did not take the drug while carrying him. I would really like to talk to all of you, something needs to be done to care for these kids that are now adults that can not cope. They sleep, eat, are extremely depressed, suicidal thoughts, learning problems, unable to conform to society, lies, bi-polar, anti-social, can't function in everyday life and with everyday problems.We need help. If anyone out there could possible contact me {edited for privacy}.

Hi again. I am very sorry to hear this. I don't think the spine issue is related to the drug, but maybe the prematurity or some other gene stuff...but 1 week on the lowest dosage is less than most people here took...and again it may have played a significant role to your son's health... I hope everything turns out well. Take care.

There's so many of us out here with no resolve and legal path on this drug maker. So sorry to hear your struggles. When I first read the comments here it was Aug of 2016. My daughter was born in '83, so I was like you and never correlated the 2, but I had a suspicion because her problems don't run in the family.

Hello Jim,
I was put on oral Yutopar and sent home under nursing care for 1 week, I had to take it twice a day and I can’t remember the exact dosage but I do remember it was the smallest dosage the oral pill came in, I was 34 weeks pregnant and went into labour and had my son at 35 weeks. He was very healthy when he was born and didn’t show many signs at the time of any issues, by the age of 2 I noticed he was different than most children his age but I still didn’t corilate there was major issues going on. He is almost 18 yrs old now and has sever problems with mental health and he also has a deformed spine which is very painful for him, I am not sure if that is related to the drug or not but his spine and joints ache all the time, he also has a very prominent sleep disorder and will not sleep for 72 hours at a time.

I was given the drug in April 2000. I am in Canada the side effects at the time were awful for me, but they were nothing compared to what my son deals with daily now as well as everyone around him. My son is now 17 and he has all these issues mentioned above and some. He is also suicidal and spent last summer in the adolescent Psyc unit. There he was diagnosed with depression, conduct disorder, adhd, and anxiety. He also had several other issues the doctors never finished diagnosing as they had to let him out of the hospital due to bed space and acute suicidal patients.

I am in absolute shock finding this forum as I had not correlated the two things at all yet with my son and in utero exposure to Yutopar! Please for anyone reading this who may have information for me to get help for my son feel free to contact me!!! {edited for privacy}

Thank you. Since we lost our first newborn during 21st week, and since it happened from a bacteria which caused infection (chorioamnionitis) - very dangerous situation - and since I knew it might happen as I had read that, but trusted the first gynecologist (back then) that we had who said "don't worry about it", I have such remorse that I worry now for almost everything. And this thread here is life saving. And something must be done.... If you read my other post with the links, and read the last link about the science research industry that kills people, you will understand... Thank you all again.

Hi, I am so sorry...every story here is hear braking... I am from Greece and I came across with Ritodrin before a week, when my wife had a cervical cerclage at 14th week (light surgery with light anesthesia, for 40') in order to avoid preterm birth and she was administered for about 6 hours a drip (serum with Ritordine) in order to avoid contractions after the surgery at the cervix. Immediately I searched for it and found you guys and demanded to stop the medication, which did...do you remember for how long where you on the serum? Only a drip, like 1 or 2 days? I am gathering research data (updated) that will post here soon...

I have done some research and found that terbutaline (and probably other b adrenergic agonists, like ritordine), increases the chance to harm the baby's neurological system when administered for over 2 weeks, from mid 2nd to 3rd semester... here are 2 articles:

China uses still as well. I was on it for 3 months at the highest amount allowed plus medication to prevent heart failure due to the ritodrine making my heart race. This was is 2011 so we still don't know if there are long term side effects. I'm sure a little didn't hurt. But if you research also you will find that ritodrine did little to prevent early labour. Another medication option is Atosiban. They give ritodrine because it's cheap.

I would under the advisement of a dr have her do a detox for heavy metals she didn’t get much but this will ensure she flushes the drug out, when I refused to take the drug with my younger two my dr told me to drink a glass of wine daily to relax my uterus. That worked. I went into labor constantly while on youtupar wine worked and no side effects to me or baby and I didn’t even like to drink but it worked and I had no complications hope that helps

I was on Ritodrine for over 6 weeks with both pregnancies. I’m so glad that you researched this drug right away and your wife stopped taking it. I believe that it was approved for short term use only in the US. I’ve only seen posts on here from women that took it long term not knowing that it was an experimental drug and was meant to be used for short term use only.

None of us are experts but all of us have affected grown adult kids who will never be adjusted or normal so to speak. I would hope your wife didn't get enough to cause harm. Most of us here were on the drug several weeks to a couple of months..I hope this helps. Oh fantastic idea to search this drug. Very wise!!
