Yeast Infection How Long To Clear Up

Was diagnosed with a yeast infection last week. I took a 150mg dose of Diflucan on Thurs. night. It’s been 4 days and the symptoms have improved a little but I still have slight itching and tenderness. Is that a good sign? From what I hear and read, symptoms (itching) are suppose to clear up in 3 days. I also have discharge today. Can it take a week to fully clear on one pill?

Should I wait it out another day or two or should I take another dose of Diflucan or the terconazole cream I was prescribed?

How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?

While you should normally see some improvement after 3 to 4 days, it can take 7 to 10 days for a dosage to fully clear up a yeast infection.

The FDA warns that it may cause spotting, discharge, nausea, dizziness, and headache.

Has your doctor also instructed you to use the cream? A topical cream is often prescribed to help alleviate some symptoms, along with an oral, or internal medication.

I’m better now, thank you. It took the entire 7 days for it to fully clear.
