I had a DVT in 2001 and have been on warfarin since. I've had no problem with it and go every week to get my INR checked which is no big deal. Now, my doctor wants to switch me to Xarelto but I'm scared. Once you start taking this you will be on it until blood walls thin, then you will be begin to bleed inside, then they will make you stop taking it, and you will have a stoke or heart attack, there are many other ways to thin your blood. These blood thinner drugs are poison. They did this to my Mother and Father, and my sister as well. Please save your life and find an alternative. Was prescribed Xarelto 15 mg 2x daily two weeks ago for blood clot in the leg. I would like to keep taking the viamins/ supplements that I always took before this - I.e., B complex, Vit. C 1000 mg, Calcium/Magnesium, Vit D 2000 IU, Co-enzyme Q 10 200 mg, Biosil and Lutein. My doc said "no", but didn't tell me why not. Can't find any info anywhere to determine abiut this. Xarelto manufacturer has no info on package insert. Pharmacist doesn't seem to know either. Hi there I'm 45. F, After a Hysterectomy I discovered a pain in my back, after CT scan discovered a PV on my Lung. I was put on the 2 x 15mg xarelto and now on the 20mg for 6 mths. I now have 4 Months left to go and it is now when I am finding the side affects to be at their worst. Swollen/painful left foot, behind the knee, wrists, left side throat gland? and the dizzy spells, severe headaches, blurred vision. It's enough to keep me almost bed ridden! I have read the side effects on this sight and feel at ease, but I and planning on flying (24hr flight) and feel very anxious about it. Started Xarelto a year ago after blood clots after breast cancer surgery. Having surgery again in a week and was taken off xarelto until after surgery. I am now scared to be off this drug. Do I need to be scared of new clots even before surgery? ## Hi there, I've been on Xarelto for three years after having a stroke while in AFIB. Whenever I have a surgery (colonoscopy and total knee replacement) my doctor either puts me on an injectable two days prior or just stop taking it a day before the procedure. I have been on 20 mg of Xarelto for about 2 weeks after a week of 30 mg. I have developed pain in my lower jaw. I have seen my dentist who took X-Rays and probed the area. Nothing wrong with my teeth or jaw. Has anyone else experienced this? I have been taking Xarelto 15mg x2/day for almost 3 weeks and will go onto 20mg/day next week for the remainder of 3 months. I had a lower leg blood clot almost 3 wks ago. I have experienced some itching of my lower and upper legs and wonder whether it is something to worry about. I had thought that maybe the symptoms may relax when I go onto the lower dose. I chose Xeralto over Warfarin for the convenience of less blood checks and think I would prefer to remain on it. I am 36 years old with PE, multiple clots in both lungs, blockage to right valve of heart and DVT in left leg. I have no medical issues ever. My PE was diagnosed 3 weeks ago. My doctor put me on Xarelto. I am still on the 21 day, 15mg, 2x a day. I am lethargic, vomiting, severe night sweating, dizziness, blood in my stool, insane MIGRAINES and back aches. The bleeding side effects have landed me in the ER, 3x already. I really cant qualify which side effect is hitting me the worst. On top of it all this drug costs $316 a month and I am uninsured but employed. My financial status and insurance disqualify me for the free Xarelto plans. I was put on Xarelto 12 days ago, one 20mg pill per day for afib. Within 48 hours I started noticing lower back pain that's become progressively worse. Never having taken a blood thinner like this before, I'd like to know if anyone else has had this side effect with Xarelto, and if so, does it eventually go away as your body gets used to the medication? The last couple of days I can barely walk at times. If this is a permanent effect I can't stay on this med and function. I have no other side effects and wouldn't even know I was taking it otherwise. I have been on Xarelto for about a month and my weight went up 25 to 30 lbs. Before I was on Xarelto I was taking Warfin and I was gaining any extra weight. I haven't been prescripted nor taken any other medications then the medications that has prescripted to me. I've been on xarelto for 2 months following dvt in my leg. I take 20 mg a day. In addition to almost constant headaches I now feel faint, tired, and my pinky finger feels numb. My father went down hill fast after being on xarelto for 4 months, he has debilitating fatigue. he can no longer stand with out help. he has been in the hospital twice in 2 months and each time had to have a transfusion of 2 units of whole blood each time. A fall produced a cut and abrasion. Bled for 5 days so stopped xarelto 15 mg/day. Had taken for 4 months for DVT. Am now on 5th day without xarelto. Blood is still oozing slightly but clotting well. Do I wait until the bleeding has stopped before restarting xarelto? Doctor is unavailable. ## I would get to some Doctor first and sooner the better. Can I take Serrapeptase pills when I'm taking Xarelto? Will it affect my blood thinners? ## Hello Kita, Due to Serrapeptase being a vitamin I was unable to find any conclusive evidence that there is a negative interraction between it and the Xarelto. I was able to find on the Serrapeptase manufacturing website a warning that states if you have a bleeding disorder that you should consult your doctor before taking Serrapeptase. I would advise that you discuss this with your doctor not only because of the Serrapeptase warning but also because both of these work towards preventing blood clotting. I have been on xarelto for 9 months for a PE i never had. I just seen a pulmonologist today and he said I didn't have a PE and I should stop taking them. Hi, I am on Xarelto for three months due to a blood clot in the lower calf left leg. I have been suffering with a pain to the left side of my neck my the lymph node travelling down my left arm. I was prescribed xarelto 20 mg for 20 days following foot surgery, due to a history of a clot in my calf, took last pill day before yesterday and my whole body, but especially my foot is swollen and retaining fluid I am fatigued and sore.
