Withdraws Overnight From Hydrocodone

Updated

II have been taking 10/325 - 3 per day for three (3) years. Never abuse it, but seems after the last dose at 2:30pm I go downhill towards night. Feel like the flu sometimes. Mornings feel like a out of shape 98 year old and I'm in my 50's. On worst days about 7 or 8pm I'll drink three (3) 16 ounce beers to help me sleep and it brings me back to life or 50%. I never drink more than 3. Is this my body asking for more? I do not want more due to one day planning on asking the doctor to get off and deal with the pain from an injury. Arm and spine injury. I look at my clock these days and can almost know what time it is to take one 10/325. My ribs ache in the morning and thought may be constipation being I take another pill to try to keep me regular and not always successful. Could also the rib pains be from a packed colon? I want my active life back but almost seems I'm restricted due to the addiction on 3 pills. Help? Another problem plied on the underlying pain.

It seems like taking your last dose at 2:30 may actually be too early to hold you over all night, you may want to try spacing them out differently, so you can take one later in the evening, or at bedtime.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

It's hard to say what may be causing the rib pain. Has your doctor offered any theories or a diagnosis?

Taking pills as prescribed, however, is not addiction. You do build up a tolerance to them, so sometimes your dosage needs adjusted, but it is not the same as addiction. Addiction is when someone abuses something, because they like how it makes them feel, but since most side effects go away, after awhile, they have to keep taking more and more to get those effects back. You also would not suffer the same withdrawal effects as an addict, especially if you taper off slowly.

Wells I didn't want to increase the dosage for sure. My schedule was my own to help me hide any discomfort and I sit behind a desk but stay alert and perky. driving home is Ground Hog Day all over again. I get what your saying change the times. Reason for 2:30 is it's wore off enough to sleep. In the beginning I found you like awake nap day dream but don't ever reach a good sleep and sure hate lying in bed letting my mind run about when will this be over. Do I have body cancer. Y'know all the things your mind can wonder when hopeless. Dr. hasn't an idea on alternative meds. I will talk about that next visit. I am getting shots in my neck (steroids) that do nothing. May be just me but I this has gone on for two of the three years and sometimes pray that I will not die. Fear of dying imagine that. I have too much life to live and share. That's how I feel getting up at 3:00am like a clock till that first dose at 6:30am. Could be another underlying defect going on to cause all this OR the way I react to this pill. I don't like it. I was tough at fishing and outdoors things an it's to early to give that away. Labored breathing at night could cause my rib pains. I like alone and have no one to let me know if my sleep is rough. If there was such thing as a diagnostic hospital take me in and head to toe me for other issues I'd be able to change my mindset and either find the real problem or accept I'm not me anymore, but that doesn't exist I know of. Thanks Vernon and God Bless You.....

They call it dependency versus addiction. And, yes, your body is dependent upon this drug. It is a very s***ty drug. As it helps in the beginning, and then actually start causing more pain when prescribed for chronic pain issues. Have you taken anything homeopathic? Have you tried Tumeric for inflammation and pain? I hope you find relief.

I'm not a doctor and know nothing about homeopathics if the doctor hasn't recommended it respectfully. I'm still waiting on that right person that has been there to answer this thread about the rib and mid back pains. I can Google all day come up with viral infection or at worst osteoarthritis or Thoracic spinal stenosis, words I don't use myself. I grew up with family that didn't take an aspirin if that and looking for a yes or no answer meaning has anyone experienced first hand and what did they do to fix it answer. This word TRIED is really getting old. 4 years old in my case. I don't have much time for trying out new pills and mashed bark rubs. LOL. Thanks Michelle for the kind words. When your ears ring 24/7 and you experience maybe 1 good day a week it really gets under your skin. Under mine anyway.

I'm hearing three years on 3 pills a day is a low dosage compared to many other peolple that are on that med. I mentioned someday's or most I drink maybe three or four beers max at 7:30pm. Normally eat some toast afterwards and fall asleep being the meds have wore off and the muscle spasms and nose itch are gone. Could it be the beer is adding to the waking feeling awefull. I'm not drunk, just relaxed enough to sleep. I wake sleep day dream on hydrocodone. I don't and never have done during the day on the effects of the pill. I'm telling you the pain in ribs can move from one side to the other to the backside also. Sometimes midback pain stays for hours. I just get afraid of something fatal is going to happen. Mind is running bad thoughts. I have taken Xanax 3 a day also for near 30 years. Only thing that works for anxiety in many years of trials of anti-anxiety drugs. That wasn't related to this nerve problem. I'm digging here deep trying to find cause. Pinched nerve in neck is known. Nerves in spine unknown. I know mixing drugs and alcohol isn't good. Man I'm so ready to wake up back to normal. It's a long ground hog day. I'm telling you. #hopeless
