Wisconsin Pain Management - Will They Prescribe Pain Meds

Updated

I am most likely going to be moving to Wisconsin and I wanted to know if it is as bad there as it is here in Florida for chronic pain patients who take opiods. Here the problem is no pharmacies will fill the prescriptions. I have had chronic pain for 5 years and lost my career due to it and am now on disability. I do not ABUSE my meds and have never got in any trouble. I do not take very strong meds one of them is a schedule 3. and the schedule2 is a very low dose. I do not see getting injections as other people have said that alot of doctors do because i have pain everywhere and i have got shots in my neck years ago that were worthless also in my feet that did nothing.

It is the same all over the U.S. New regulations were put in place last year and people having been encountering problems all over.

Pharmacies are limited in how much they can stock of any controlled substance each month and many have just become reluctant to deal with all the new record keeping and prescription checking that needs to be done, now.

I wish I had better news for you, but I'm afraid I don't.

Do you know anyone there that may be able to refer you to a good doctor and a pharmacy that they use? That may make things easier.

NO i dont thats why i posted here. I heard it was better there then in Florida. My parents had no issue filling oxycodone for my dad at all. Here they probably wouldnt have filled it. I am looking to move to the Fon du lac area though my parents live further north.

Hello, I'm Leah does anyone know of any pain management doctors that prescribe methadone 10ml.and oxycode 30ml. I've been on both medications for approximately 4 years and unfortunately I haven't been successful locating one. I live in Milwaukee Wisconsin. .. PLEASE if anyone could give me the names of doctors numbers...any info. I would greatly appreciate it. I'm 54 years old and do not abuse my med.s but found out recently that my caretaker of all people was stealing my medications. Thank you.. Leah from Milwaukee.

I am looking for the same thing. A doctor who will prescribe methadone. I have been prescribed methadone for pain for 5 years. Recently, I made a mistake and had a dirty U/A and was kicked out. One dirty U/A in 5 years!! My prescription runs out next week. I'm in a panic!

Hello,

It is not as bad here in WI to get a pain managment doctor as I heard it was down South. I was born and raised down south and live in Milwaukee, WI now. I had no problem getting a pain managment doctor and had no problem getting a new one after many years when I learned that my first one was falsifying my records in attempt to steal from my insurance. Pls stay away from Dr. Nosheen Hasan though. Just my suggestion from experience.

Try to get in with Advanced Pain Managment. Those guys are kind and compassionate. And they treat people like human beings that are suffering from pain, not like street junkie animals such as what you receive from Dr. Hasan and her staff!!

Try Advanced Pain Management. They are located throughout Wisconsin and especially Milwaukee.

I was dropped by a lying ruthless pain doctor and her rude uppity staff. I tell you, it was the Best thing that ever could've happened to me. After 8 years of a perfect record, she had allegedly gotten in trouble with the DEA and she needed a few patsies to polish up her tarnished rep. Plus I am a Christian and she is a Muslim POS. She didn't have a vslid reason to discharge me, so she had her nursing staff lie about me and falsify the Only med count she ever called on me to show.

Even then, she had no valid reason to drop me. So she had her nurse lie about my meds. I learned later that she did the same thing to other good patients. All just to try and clear her stained name and tarnished reputation as a pain doctor via the DEA!!

But a true Blue Blessing in disguise because now I have a real legitimate doctor and his staff...Not one who got her license from a cereal box or laying her face between an instructor's legs!!

THANKS FOR NOTHING. DO, NOT BREFER THIS JOKE OF A PAIN PRACTICE 'ADVANCED PAIN MANAGEMENT'. I WENT TODAY, WASTED TONS OF GAS AND DRIVING IN PAIN TO BE TREATED ABOUT THE SAME WAY AS THE CURRENT DR TREATED ME. SAID THEY WONT KEEP ME ON MEDS EVEN THOUGH THATS THE ONLY THING THAT'S EVER HELPED ME N NOW I WONT BE ABLE TO WORK AND THIS POS DOESNT CARE. WHAT A JOKE. I DONT BLAME ANY OPIATE ADDICTS IF I KNEW SOMEONE ID BE ON IT ALSO. THIS IS A FRIGGON ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE HOW UNCARING THESE POS ARE. WOWWW.

Well that's funny because APM has treated me with utmost courtesy, respect, and professionalism ever since my first meeting.

That awesome doctor could've easily Refused to even take me on as a patient, esp after just being discharged/dropped by my other pain doctor I had had for 8 freaking years of suffering unprofessionalism, not giving a crap about me as a patient, years of putting up with the doctor's being extremely late with arriving. Sometimes Dr. Hasan had their patients waiting 5 freaking Hours to be seen, and gave No Apology whatsoever. And God Forbid you should gripe about it or showing any kind of anger at all about it!! I literally saw that Thing of a doctor Discharge several patients in a row for just going up and questioning the desk nurse about why they were waiting for 7 hours to be seen!!

Now Dr. Hasan didn't start Out my appointments like that. Her whole staff, for first 4 years, were compassionate, kind, and seemed to be on top of things. And they gave meds increases accordingly.

But their whole demeanor changed suddenly, and they became rude, uncaring, unprofessional, falsifying patient records.

And she is a Muslim, and when this whole Muslim-Christian-American hatefulness broke out, esp with that POS ISIS group...This was when she began mistreating her patients that are Christian. And I have proof of this too! I am a true Christian.

But APM, for the past year, at Every visit has treated me like a Person and not like just some street junkie!! And there has been times when I would het mad at them for this or that...I wouldn't agree with them...But it was their Tough Love patient treatment.

APM doesn' let their patients dictate to them when and where their pain meds are to be filled, no matter Whether or not the patient is some rich jerkoff or some popular spoiled brat...They take their stands, treating everyone equally the same, and I Sooooo respect them for that!!

And another thing, when I first began seeing Dr. Scarlett and his assistant Maria, who is no longer there and who was just the absolute Best NP Ever!!, not only did they keep me close to the amount of meds I Was getting from POS Hasan, but they even Changed me back to the 60mg MS Contin 3 times per day, which that witch had taken me off for no reason and placed me on a 1 per day bs pain med. And she ignored my complaints that it was causing me serious physican illnesses!!

When Dr. Scarlet saw me for the first time, he noticed serious discolorations of my skin and fingernails. Right away he asked me if I had been taking that pain medication. And when I said yes and told him the whole story, he Immediately took me off of it, said something about me being lucky that I was still walking, and he put me right back on MS Contin!!

My immediate thoughts were "Wow!! These people are Awesome and really care about their patients!! And I still feel that way, even a year later.

Plus, APM doesn't make you give both unnecessary U/A's And blood work at every visit. They Do give U/A's but it's not at Every single appointment like jerkoff witch Hasan did. She does that to totally drain your insurance, get as much of your hard-earned money as she can for co-pays (My wife and I have just about the Best health insurance available, but they Refuse to pay for unnecessary doctor office charges, and those blood diagnostics And U/A's, together Are Not Covered. It is either one or the other. I told Dr. Hasan that several times. Yet she don't care at all, one little bit, and Makes you take them both anyway, and if you refuse both, she drops you as her patient Immediately!!)

Ohh, and if you are seeing Hasan and her staff, and you suddenly arent happy with it. And if you decide to even just see another pain doctor as just a curious initial visit and Hasan finds out, she drops you as her patient Immediately, and citing that you are dropped because of "Doctor Shopping!" And she listens to No Excuses!! This is why I stayed with her for so long...Because in a way, I was Forced to...Definitely not because I wanted to!! Abuse of her doctor license and sudden mistreatment of her patients, esp Christian patients, by Dr. Hasan, Jenelle, and her unbelievably Rude Crude nursing staff, was totally unbelievable and inexcusable!!!

Being a patient at APM and Their staff, esp Dr. Scarlett, is like a true fresh of breath air...air of freedom...after being severely mistreated for soo very long by Wheaton-Franciscan and Dr. Hasan and her staff.

I stand fully behind APM and my Dr. Scarlett there, and his staff. The NPs there and the whole nursing staff are so very caring and polite. It is just a real Blessing!! When Dr. Hasan dropped me based on lies that she herself instructed her staff to write in my record, after being a near-perfect patient of hers for 8 long years, I was devastated. Was just going thru a divorce shocker (we reconciled thank God), and now That. And she didnt even care. She uttetly tried everything she could to break my Christian Spirit and destroy me. She took total advantage of my severe emotional distress. She purposely violated the AMA policies and procedures. And when I contacted Wheaton-Franciscan about the issue, they were just as rude, uncaring, unprofessional, and uncompassionate.

I have since fired All of my Wheaton Franciscan doctors, therapists, etc! And will go through APM and/Aurora for all of my healthcare needs from here on out!!

APM is a true Blessing and Answered prayer. I had heard all the horror stories of what ppl go thru when discharged by a pain managment doctor. When this happens, it is nearly and virtually Impossible to find another pain doctor, esp that fast and one that will mediately take you on as their patient.

But I felt totally comfortable at my initial visit with APM, was totally honest about the whole ordeal with Dr. Hasan, and had to suffer not one bit!! God directed me to Dr. Scarlet that very same day Dr. Hasan discharged me. God heard my prayers of distress about the issue.

And He told me not to worry at All!! And I like to think Also, that Dr. Scarlet was suddenly compelled or even directed by Lord God Jesus Christ to take me on as a new patient.

I just Love Dr. Scarlett and the whole APM staff. I am an avid collector of high end hand made and production knives. And I have a gift of appreciation for him at my next appointment!!

So before you guys listen to other ppl flapping their gums about anything negative where APM is concerned, maybe you should just make appointment for yourselves!! Then you will see yourself just how professional, kind, caring, and compassionate they are at APM Health and then come here and Debunk these bs negative stories about APM!!! Thanks For Reading!!!

My Doctor is going into full retirement soon and have been turned down for even an appointment unless I agree to allow them to take me off narcotic pain meds for good. Without them my pain is unbearable so it's not an option and I have never once come up even a pill short in 14 years. I finally got an appointment with Advanced Pain Management I was told by the nurse the doctor is uncomfortable with the amount of pain medication I'm on and should get a different Doctor to put in a pain pump. I showed her in my records from the Mayo Clinic that I shouldn't even have anymore inj's because of the high likelihood of them causing paralysis let alone surgery to put in a pump that can cause paralysis on it's own and the response from the nurse was to say ok I'll see what he thinks. She returned and said they would get back to me. IN the meantime my Doctor and I had tests done that show I metabolize the medication very quickly which is why I require a larger dosage then most people but I don't need it to be increased as often as most people do. It's been 4 months and they still haven't gotten back to me and I have no idea what I'm going to do when my Doctor retires or god forbid passes away, he is 86 years old, I thought he was in his late 50s early 60s.

Well that is very strange, and your story does not make any sense whatsoever, Esp since APM specializes in prescription pain meds.

I was even discharged by a Different pain managment doctor...for reasons based on lies but still...I was dropped for being short once on my meds. I even told the APM dr. about it and was very honest.

And this awesome, kind, caring doctor at APM Still agreed to take me on as a new patient. And not only that but he also gave me just about the exact same amount of pain medication that I was receiving by the other doctor.

Just recently, my new pain dr. upgraded my pain meds. Now I am finally back to the same amount of pain meds that I was receiving from the prior pos lazy no-good lying thieving doctor that I had before being Blessed with this Real doctor!!

And like I said, there sure is something strange about your gas-wasting story via APM. Perhaps you ended up with a crappy dr? I prayed for guidance and for God to lead me to the dr. He wanted me to have. Because Dr. Hasan, my former doctor, is Muslim. I am Christian. That is why we clashed. And after she did me so dirty and dropped me for no good reason at all, was when I prayed.

I think her dropping me was part of God's hidden Blessings He wanted to give to me. Now, no more 3, 4, and 5 hour waiting past my appointment just because the doctor arrived whenever she felt like it!!

No more rude smartass nurses and nurse practitioners such as Jenelle, who thought she was a god!!

At APM, I am in the room 5 to 15 minutes after I arrive, and done and out the door about 25 mins after arrival. Plus, no more blood work and u/a's every single month. APM does give drug panels, but they do it at random...Not at every freaking appointment, which drains your insurance.

And APM, once they have you regulated on your meds, and you've shown responsibility with meds, they will make appointments 2 and 3 months out, and longer, if needed!! You dont have to see them every single month.

And the APM and their staff I have been receiving treatment from, are all kind, courteous, compassionate, and show extreme bedside manner. Esp my APM doctor, Dr. Scarlett!! He and his Nurse Practitioner Christa, are the Absolute Best!!

I dont believe a word, you have written. The laws state you HAVE TOBL JEEN SEEN MONTHLY TO BE ON NARCOTICS. SONYOU MUST BE ONE OF THE SAD SICK,UNCARING DRS OR,PHSYICAN ASSISTANTS WHO WORK AT THAT HELLHOLE. cuz NO DR will write u 3 or 4 months of prescriptions

Ummm...No, sorry, I do Not work at APM. I am a patient there.

And you are Wrong about the laws...They do not write you 2 or 3 months worth of prescriptions to be filled all at once. But what they do is give you a paper prescription for each month, but for several different months.

Anyway, it sounds like you either got a crappy doctor or office, or you are just a prissy pissy because unlike other uncaring, irresponsibleu pm doctors, they actually showed you some tough love and didn't let you just walk in there and Dictate to them just what they were going to give to you.

Sounds like instead, they showed you their tuff love side, and was going to give you what you were Needing...not what you were Wanting...And that made you a prissy sissy!!

Either way, I am really sorry that you went to APM and was so very mistreated!! Here, I just bought a new brand of tissue called Whiny Sissy Brand. I am giving it to You...On the house!! Ha Ha!

I don't get seen every month either and my prescriptions are from my primary care doctor. I have to pick up the physical prescription every month because it's narcotics I need to have the hard copy but I don't see him every month I see him every other month so your claims that the above writer is lying is invalid

At the pain management I go to they are telling all their patients everyone no matter their conditions are being lowered to under a 100 mgs in total of all meds not just narcotics. Depending on what your all on and the conditions that doesn't leave much room. The Dr caused an irreversible injury during a procedure from pressing to hard. Presses real hard on her patients injuries. They aren't very nice at that location. I heard good and bad about APM I've thought about going to a different location.

I'm in Omro, WI in need of a fair pain doctor. I've got chronic pain and need more future surgeries. Does ANYONE know of a doc I can call? I'll go as far as Greenbay if needed or towards Milwaukee, but I hear it's gotten bad.

I'm tired of our government telling doctocs how much pain meds they can give people. NO ONE's pain is the same does EVERYONE AGREE And they're calling it an opioid epidemic, but I say NO. Illicit drugs like heroin and crack are the real epidemic.

Anyone, please - I'm crying out for help in need of a DECENT pain doctor. HURTING, plz help me.

Humm we were having a nice conversation that was someone named RK that said all that crap to you. Thanks for the info I appreciate it. No there wasn't any tough love crap, I have serious medical conditions that need to be addressed accordenly no matter who I see. Froedert PCP refers me to whatever pain dr / clinic pain clinic i want to go to because they can't give the medical attention I need in opiates. I am legit and in severe pain levels.I had no need to dictate what i got for pain scrips. I loved apm until my pa was fill appts so i had to see dr other pa. I'm one of God's Children and I act like it but I'm sure No miss prissy pants ! what's so ever. I wasn't whining, the injury was during a procedure like I said was horrifying she pressed on my shoulder blade, shoulder and coller bone it was so swellon at the er that they couldn't do an mri,and thought she cracked bones and still at the next visit with the apm pa who did multiple mri's and ultra sound. The dr was only doing a cervical injection no where near the areas. There shouldnt be anything that sounded sketchy onbmy end i have the injury that you can see and the witnesses that were talked to. I was explains my story like others do, I only seen the Dr when I was having a surgery and seen her pa for appt's. She has two PA'S the PA I had for three yrs was awesome but I got switched to her other PA, much the same I'm a Christian that Pa wasn't and seemed to not like me the second she layed her eyes on me but they wanted me out, I wanted to be out since I couldn't just see the pa I always seen and nothing saying I wouldn't be bouncing back and fourth when her appt book was full. I had no clue where to go, where to find someone or who to see. They also take Medicaid I waited it out for that matter too. Now i have a great dr. Who's dr. Stein i totally reccomend him. I just cant afford the high pmt . The APM PA I had for 3yrs was awesome I explained it all the first time, nothing should have sounded sketchy. I always appreciate any help I get. I have much appreciated yours on here. Thank you for taking the time with me and I'm glad you're doing good with you're Dr. Have a very blessed day.
