Will Oxycodone 15 Ir Show The Same In A Ua As Er

I am running out of my Oxycodone IR 15mg early again. A friend of mine gave me some oxycodone ER 15mg to get me thru. I am running out two days early. Will I pass the UA cup test when I see pain management doc? They don't check levels just look for different illegal drugs. I am worried about this and would rather go thru two days of hell then risk a dirty UA. Thanks.

No, they both contain Oxycodone as the active ingredient, so they will be detected as the same substance.

However, if you are running out early, rather than risk any problems, it would be far better to discuss the issue with your doctor.

yes, I asked her about ER oxycodone as the instant ones are not doing it anymore due to tolerance issues. She said then maybe she would wean me down slow and then go a month without. Then start it all over again. I am trying to get a new pain management doctor who might be willing to give me ER and my IR. I feel that would help control my pain much better. Thinking about going a month without doesn't work for me as I would be useless for a month. Last time I was in there they suggested I have my right kidney removed. My nyphrologist says that is ridiculous as I still have function in that kidney, no blood in urine but do have a large nasty looking blood filled tumor they have been watching closely. It causes me much lower back pain as well as a cyst in my throat and DDD and DJD in my neck and shoulders coupled with severe arthritis. My occipital gland swells and gives me blinding headaches and I have spinal problems as well as bulging discs. I am totally disabled. My Nephrologist is sending me to a new PM clinic that has doctors instead of the Nurse Practitioner who runs the clinic I currently go to. I hope I am on the right path to finding a decent way to live. I am not supposed to take Tylenol or Advil due to my kidney problem and hep C status. Thanks for you reply.

I didn't think anybody else had as many problems as I have, but u do, and very similar ones as well. I have hep C and kidneys are o.k. but liver is shot. Besides your kidneys, you don't want to take anything with aceteamenaphin(don't know how to spell it) but it is in things like Loratab, percocet, most over the counter meds, and most prescribed meds weaker then oxy. I also have mega ruptured discs, neck & lower back. I have been taking Roxicodone 30mg for ten years and about 3 yrs. ago, I suggested to my pain management doctor that he put me on ms-contin with my roxy. For as you know, you build a tolerance for roxy real fast. I was receiving 240 roxy 30 mg. a month, and was running out by week 3. I'm an x-IV user and maybe that's why. You know, rather than taking just for pain, maybe I'll have a few more for pleasure. It took me awhile to get a grip on this but I did. What did it for me, my doctor got popped for writing way too many scripts that gave out way too many pills. Everybody I spoke to in that office (patients) were getting 240 and more. Enough story telling...its up to us as how we use our medine, and I'm proud to say I use mine properly now. As I mentioned, on my suggestion, I had my New doctor prescribe only 60 roxy 30 mg. and 90 ms-contin. Roxy, as I'm sure you'll agree, knocks out the pain fast, but does not hold for more than 3 to 4 hours,depending on tolerance. Taken with 1 ms-contin, that (even with my "horse-like" tolerance) will hold me for 12 hours. I have run out early of my roxy, and had to go one or two weeks with just ms-contin, and did just fine. It relieved the pain and one actually lasted from 8 to 12 hrs. This is important for our liver. You said you have hep C and so do I. My kidneys are probably not in tip-top shape, but seem to be holding their own. I am, however, concerned about your liver. Did your doc tell you all the damage hep c can do. I've had it for probably 35 to 40 years, and just this year found a doctor that informed me. All the other docs told me was not to give blood. There's alot more to hep c than that. Did you know that it can be transmitted by sex. Though normally it is 75% due to unscreened blood transfusions, IV users and containminated water and other countries, it can also be sexually transmitted, only if blood is involved in the act; i.e., anal sex (sometimes blood vessels are popped) menustration in women and again, anytime any blood is passed between a hep c carrier and another person. Hep C also prevents the liver from producing enough albumin, which is extremely important to the body. Albumin is a protein produced by the liver, which helps prevent excess fluid in the body from leaking into the tissues of your body.The normal rate of albumin (serum) should be from 3.9 to 5.0 level. Mine is 3.3. Doesn't seem like I'm that far off, huh? Well, due to those few little decimal points, I went from a size 5 shoe to a size 6 1/2w to a 7 on my left foot. I actually bought a pair of shoes last week, and when nobody was looking, put a size 6w and a 5 1/2w together as a pair! Fit perfectly!! My left foot is a whole size larger than my right, due to the ascites (swelling) in my feet, as well as my legs. Cirhosis of the liver is another little gift from Hep C. And cirhosis causes ascites (swelling) of the face, arms, legs and abdomen. But be aware that having hep c for many years usually leads to cirhosis first, and then, liver cancer. The worst thing you can do for hep c is ingest alcohol. On the ms-contin, it worked great for me but check out the side effects on your hep.contact me anytime. thanks for the replies! I was diagnosed with the hep C in the mid eighties. Probably got it in the seventies. I haven't had a drink or any illegal drug in many years but I am an ex Drug and alcohol abuser. I'm 52 but have had a rough life. Worked in construction for 30 years and have had a couple of semi serious[I lived] on my Harley so my body while I look like a tank is really messed up.How did I get the hep c? Who knows, back in my day there was no safe sex and lots of drugs. It sounds like you have a decent doctor and that is what I'm working on now. My nurse practitioner is totally self centered and even though I have never gave a bad ua they always fill me with anxiety because they are known to shut you down with no warning and no time to find a doctor. I am hoping to make a switch here real soon. Thank again, Mark
