White Oblong Pill A 333 With No Split Line On It Received From Cvs As Percocet Substitute

Updated

Wife had prescription for Percocet which was substituted by CVS with a small white oblong pill with A 333 on one side and no identification and no "line" for breaking in two on the other side, but identified on bottle and circular as "10-325". After root canal, pill has been relatively ineffective only overriding pain for about an hour and caused nausea and vomiting when second pill taken 4 very long hours later. After a day of suffering, switched to hydrocodone 7.5-300 at 10am when ineffectiveness of 6am oxycodone 10-325 on second day had wife in tears again. Potency of year old hydrocodone 7.5-300 superior to new oxycodone 10-325. Lack of a line for splitting in two a curious omission since there is a 5-325 dosage available. Question potency and effectiveness of new A 333 "oxycodone" 10-325 substitute for Percocet. If it was Percocet equivalent, wife would have been fine since 7.5-300 masked pain without causing nausea. Something not right here. Wife had root canals before, same dentist and always a good outcome. The potency and effectiveness is definitely better in an older, weaker pill. Anyone have a similar experience?

I am very sorry that they didn't help your wife, that's terrible.

There can be some slight fluctuations in the amount of the active ingredients in generic medications, plus not all of them work well for everyone that tries them, it can even be affected by inactive ingredients.

There is also a chance that this root canal was just much more complicated that the others she has had done.

It's really hard to say. How is she doing, now?

I have been reading these posts because I also have been given the ActavisA333 instead of Watson 932. These A333's are not what a Percocet 10/325 should be in no way. I already had GI problems, now they are worse than ever with severe constipation; sharp stomach pains. This month which is 2nd month with the A333's has now caused multiple raised red sores with white middle all in my mouth & on my tongue, they hurt & burn so bad I cannot eat anyth

We refilled the prescription at another pharmacy on Wednesday (root canal on Monday) and that took care of her pain. It was a tough procedure because after an abscess was taken care of and the root canal done, a second abscess began to form along the gum line. The dentist checked for a hidden canal that was missed but the gum line swelling was on the soft tissues only. The new swelling and inflammation was the source of the higher pain issue. The dentist has proscribed sufficiently in anticipation of pain but the A333 pill was relatively impotent. I have personally had several root canals done by this highly competent dentist and required no pain medication at all so luckily I had an unused bottle of hydrocodone on hand. Refilling at another pharmacy for a quality 10-325 solved the problem. The local C VS (largest and busiest in Worcester, MA) had only the A333 pill available which forced us to go elsewhere, which we will do from now on. This root canal caused the loss of a full week of work...an unusually tough one and why people are so fearful of root canals. Wife's teeth are more problematical than mine and the dentist takes the patient's pain tolerance into account. All is fine now. We are retiring baby boomers with mouth's full of fillings that require rework and an occasional root canal. Our parents had no teeth when they were in their sixties, but we have all 28-32 of them, but with a few maintenance issues of course. Thank you for your concern. I hope our experience helps others to avoid the A333 pill version of oxycodone 10-325 which it most certainly is NOT.

Cont... I would like to know if anyone else has had the mouth sore problem? I already had GERD which I take protonix. The GERD has also gotten worse. Could that be causing my mouth sores? Any help at all will be appreciated. Thank you.

I had similar problems and no reduction of pain. Used oxycodone too many years to have no affect on helping my pain. Someone getting paid with no pain.
