White Oblong Pill 10 N 358

Updated

This white oblong pill has the number 10 on one side; other side is scored with a lower case “n” (NOT “m”) to left of the score line and “358” to the right of the score line. Thank you.

I was just given these from my pharmacy the other day. They say they are Norco 10/325 but as soon as I started taking them I got sick. Upset stomach, loss of appitite. I called the pharmacy to see if anything could be done and they told me to call my doctor. Plus they don't seem to work like the brand I was taking.

Hi Teri,

Sorry to hear about your experience with these tablets... I just wanted to verify that these are listed as being generic Hydrocodone Bitartrate + Acetaminophen (10/325 mg). The manufacturer is Novel Laboratories Inc. and the pill itself carries a National Drug Code of 40032-358. Perhaps it might've been one of the binders/fillers that your body is hypersensitive to, causing those unwanted symptoms... Hopefully the doctor can specify another manufacturer's version of generic/brand Norco when it comes time to fill the next script. Many medical professionals argue that brands and generics are created equally, but I reckon that's just another $$$ gimmick.

Feel better soon!

Re: David (# 2) Expand Referenced Message

CVS decided to replace my regular yellow Qualitest Norco with this GARBAGE. Same here after taking these I have been ill, headache l day, eyes burn, stomach cramps, and all that goes with it. Right on my file it says do NOT substitute. Pain has not subsided at all, This garbage is bad. Feeling bloated. They simply do not work. CVS says that they cannot get the yellow ones even though they order them. Also say that they signed a new contract with another manufacturer. Substandard Medication and need to be investigated I believe.

Re: David (# 2) Expand Referenced Message

I cannot find their code listed on the Novel website. I was given these new tabs after taking yellow for 2 years. All new pharmacy at CVS and no one bothered to tell me about medication...why would they not have code on Novel site for 10-325? Feeling suspicious somewhat.

Re: Kai (# 6) Expand Referenced Message

I am going through the same situation right now. I got 5-325 from doc MALLINCKRODT manufacturer, no pain relief, no hydro in them guaranteed and I'm buying a drug panel to prove it. I got really sick, threw up for 3 hours, diarrhea, and going on day 4 since taking them and still have a massive headache. I have been reading comments about this manufacturer ever since. Made two reports to the FDA. What cracks me up is some people say, "there is no way they are different, it is all in your head" when really, consumers are the reason anything gets recalled. That is all I will say in regards to ignorance. Anyway, no one seems to care. Pharmacy says call doctor, doctor will not return calls. Website of Mallinckrodt says fillers may vary. That is also another issue. They are also allowed to go over or under by 20% meaning the total ingredients could be off by 20%. Anyway, Mallinckrodt has someone sneaking the hydo, or wait actually nahhh they prob know about it. Anyway, I could go on all day but just wanted to reassure you it is not just you.

Re: Teri (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

I agree! I have taken generic Norco for failed back syndrome for many years. The yellow oval were the only ones I was ever given until lately. The yellow Norco decreases the pain enough for me to get out of bed and putts around the house. About a year ago I was given white pills that looked the same except for their color. I don’t know what was written on them. They worked but not as well as my regular yellow ones. I just picked up this month's supply and I received chunky, white ovals with 10 on one side and a scored side with n on one half and 358 on the other side of the score. I have been taking them for a couple days now and found this site because I was looking up if they gave me wrong pills. Because they don’t work! They don’t upset my stomach or anything like that but they reduce the pain about as much as plain acetaminophen, which don’t help with pain at all. What do manufacturers do that cause the same drug to work so differently or not at all?

I've been on yellow norco for over 8 years they are the best when it comes to all the different brands of norcos out on the market. I received these n/358- 10 for the second time in 3 months and by far are the worse norco being made! Don't come close to helping with your pain like the yellow or even other generic norcos. Seem to make my head and eyes hurt and doesn't ease my pain level at all. They claim their all the same but that's bs !! These suck and need pulled from the market I don't even think Thiers pain medicine in them. Pitifully you pharmacist should be ashamed trying to save a buck like your not bleeding us poor as it is only to give us the poorest quality of medication you can find. Shame shame care about the sick for a change instead of padding your pockets. Pull this medication from the shelf bet if you checked it, it wouldnt contain any pain meds a ibuprofen does just as good as this crappy medication!! Pull norco_ n/ 358. We should have a choice on Wht kind of medication we take, pharmacist shouldn't be allowed to change someone who has been on one kind for years like its nothing cs it is!! This is crap and now we got to hurt for a whole month cs we didn't know you just changed it without telling us the people who depend on their medication the people who count on you pharmacist to be there for us.

Re: Kai (# 6) Expand Referenced Message

Hi Kai. Oddly enough, the manufacturer's website (novellabs.net) doesn't even show a list of their products, let alone any other verifiable data. Unfortunately, the lack of transparency across different drug manufacturers seems to be commonplace.

I had stumbled upon the National Drug Code through a deeper investigation and found that if you run a google search for it (40032-0358) that you'll come across even more specific details than the manufacturer provides.

Hope this helps!

I can’t believe CVS can get away with there version of Norcos!! I have been taking this medication for several years but through a different drug store and I couldn’t believe how sick I got from CVS Norco’s. I was dizzy, had painful headaches and was nauseous! How can you voice your comment to them to stop selling these to other people? This has got to stop!!!

Re: Brian (# 12) Expand Referenced Message

I have also been taking the norco 10's for more than 20 yrs now and I've taken about every kind ever made now. The yellow ones did work the best but I was told the reason drug stores dont carry em anymore is cause the manufacturer of these went up on their prices again, costing pharmacies more to get them so they have all switched to a cheaper kind. There are pharmacies that still carry these but you have to pay cash to get them, otherwise you get the cheaper kind. While the n358's may appear the worst, they are better than the ip 110's or the m358's or m363's, whichever it is that Walgreens carries.
