White Oblong Scored Pill With V On One Side And 3595 On The Other Side? My Rx Bottle Says It Is Hydrocodone 7.5/500. Is That What It Is?

My Rx bottle says Hydrocodone 7.5/500. The pill is a white oblong scored pill with V on one side and 35 95 on the other side. Is that the correct medication that my bottle indicates?

That is the correct medication, but not the correct dosage on the Acetaminophen, this tablet actually contains 650mgs of it, rather than the 500mgs that you say it has on your bottle, however, the dosage of the Hydrocodone is correct at 7.5mgs. This is a narcotic pain reliever, the generic for Vicodin.

Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth.

Qualitest Hydrocodone bitartrate 7.5mg combined with paracetamol 650mg is the result I came up with. That 650mg is quite irresponsible, 750mg per tablet would be almost criminal. It is no secret that I am of the opinion that paracetamol/acetaminophen should never be available in more than 250mg dosage. It is virtually useless as an analgesic but is a good antipyretic. However it is one of the most hepatotoxic substances known and I can not understand why it is allowed to be sold OTC. Statistics show the number of deaths associated with that drug, thankfully no longer available in combination with the equally dangerous dextropropoxyphene. Acetaminophen should be a Controlled Drug of Schedule 3 at least. Read the criteria for scheduling and you should not disagree.

And Verwon it is NOT the generic for VICODIN. That is a 5mg/500mg medication. By law it will soon be 5/300mg.
