Never had a problem getting my monthly prescription for 20mg OxyContin filled at Walgreens. Just brought my prescription in to my regular Walgreens pharmacy and they told me they have not gotten shipment in weeks due to back log and change in supplier in the area. Aventura, Florida. Anyone have an idea where I can get my script filled. I have a legitimate prescription and have taken 2 to 3 per day for legitimate spinal stenosis. Without them I can't function very well because of the severe pain

I dont know where you live but i live in michigan and i go to champain pharmacy in allen park the pharmacist there is really nice and you may be able to work something out with him about shipping. Or you can call around to different pharmacies in your area and sometimes they will special order them for you, i know they will do that for you up here. Good luck

Hi, Dollie Doo! Sorry about the problem you're having.

Unfortunately, I was just reading an article about this issue and I'm not sure when it's going to change, so it will be easier for people to get their prescriptions filled.

What's going on is that the amounts of controlled substances turned over by some pharmaceutical suppliers each month were brought under question by the government if they seemed unusual for any reason. For example, if three other suppliers for pharmacies in the area were all going through a similar amount of them each month, but there was a fourth that was found to be going through a higher number, they wanted it stopped. They didn't want to know why it was happening, they just wanted it stopped.

No one wanted to look into the fact that some of them may specialize more in controlled substances for pain management, or they may be servicing a larger area…..a warning was sent to the manufacturers and they had to cut off these suppliers, with no advanced notice, if they want to be able to stay in business…..and this is why many pharmacies have a backlog and new suppliers have had to take over.

Thus, it is unlikely that they can even order them in for you right now.

You may want to ask them what they do have in stock, or what they can get and then talk to your doctor about getting a prescription for it to keep you out of pain, until the situation resolves. For instance, if they have Morphine in stock in the time released formulation, you may be able to switch to it for awhile.

Learn more Morphine details here.

Do you think your doctor would help?

it's because the pharmaceutical companies here are becoming so cheap that they're actually bargain shopping for your medication and when they can't find it cheap enough they can't give it to you, and they also try to prevent you from being able to buy the narcotics that you can still abuse and feel high off of. they want you to take the long-acting ones that rot in your stomach, and that you can't actually feel the pain relief from. you're just in as much agony as you would be without taking it. that's why

For everyone out there that pays cash or has a high deductable for their pain meds, look into Rx Savings Cards for a significant saving on prescriptions. I have been taking hydromorphone 4 for 2 years and just started saving 75% off. Good luck to everyone.
