i've never been on birth control before, so i know nothing about how it works! i started lo loestrin on 7/6, the first day of my last cycle. just took my first white pill about an hour ago. when will my period come? during the 2 white pills? during the 2 brown pills? or when i start next month's blue pills? anyone else as confused as i am? to make matters worse, i'll be starting tri-sprintec next month. those pills are FOUR different colors!!!

Hi Jan,

I wouldn't worry. I imagine that your period will start the following month. However, if it doesn't come, don't be alarmed. Your body will need time to acclimate to the birth control and that might set things off course for a little while. Just keep taking your pills and be sure to ask your gynecologist what to expect upon starting the try-sprintec, just so there is no more confusion. Birth control can definitely be a pain sometimes!
