Whatwill Happen If I Chew Oxycodone 5mg

I've recently fractured my hip and am taking 5mg Oxycodone,but don't really feel the affect of it and want to know if I chew it will the affect be stronger.

No, the effects will be the same. You can't get more than 5mg out of 5mg. You should see your doctor if it isn't helping. The goal is to minimize your pain not to "feel it." Hope you do well.

When a medication as strong as Oxycodone can't be felt, then you have to figure that something strange is going on with the tablet itself. Although I agree with post #1 in that 5mg is 5mg, no matter which way you look at it. The problem that many patients are reporting from ineffectiveness is in my opinion likely due to the added binders/fillers that make up the tablet's composition (these constantly change from tablet to tablet). My theory is that certain ones may inhibit bioavailability by not getting metabolized. In such cases it seems that the only recourse is to go back to the doctor and see if he/she will write you a new script for a different manufacturer's brand or generic that works best for you. Just have the doctor specifically state on the prescription what it is you need. That way the pharmacy will be held accountable to the doctor's orders.
