What's Proper "cocktail" For Kicking Opioids?

I have allways been told that when getting clean you are best to "treat the systems " rather than the disease.... I am sure there is some truth to this but here is my real question.... If a person has 4 steady years of pain meds (oxys, tabs, percocets,ect) what "formula" is the best one you know of to prepare for detoxification if thats what your planning on doing? I have heard of vitamin packs, and cold meds, and just getting zonked out...I mean what are the best remedys for detoxifying or to get you through that 4-6 days ahead? I am really thinking about trying to clean out and just battle my pain on my own.... Anyone care to share?

Actually, the best method is a slow tapering of the relevant medications. That can prevent the severe withdrawal effects.

Additionally, if you've been taking them for several years, it will take longer than 4 to 6 days for severe withdrawals to pass. Though they do slowly improve each day, it will take about 3 weeks for the worst symptoms to pass.

Does anyone else have any advice to add?
