I asked him about the pill but he refused to explain, rather he got angry why I asked cause the tablet is not just an ordinary tablet. Please help, I need some answers.

Found one in my guy friend’s jacket yesterday. It must be for HIV. I’ve always suspected he has the virus. It’s cruel how they don’t divulge. I used to date this guy but I never got infected because I once found the pill in his car a while ago n my suspicions were HIV but I never asked.

it's atripla (efavirenz + tenofovir + emtricitabine) and it is used for an HIV treatment. But as many people said it is also used as a PEP..

Hello Nicky,

Despite great efforts I was not able to find a reliable source that gives solid information on this pill. What I was able to find is that there are multiple unofficial claims from South African websites of this pill being a treatment for HIV infection. This medication does not necessarily mean that your boyfriend has the HIV infection it could simply mean that he has been exposed to HIV recently.

With that in mind, HIV can be transferred from an infected person through multiple sources to include contact between broken skin, wounds, or mucous membranes and HIV-infected blood or blood-contaminated body fluids. Deep, open-mouth kissing if both partners have sores or bleeding gums and blood from the HIV-positive partner gets into the bloodstream of the HIV-negative partner. It can also be transferred sexually by means of body fluids (blood, semen, vaginal fluid, pre-cum or anal mucus).

HIV cannot be transferred through saliva.

If you have experienced any of the previous methods of transfer with your boyfriend I advise you to consult your doctor and get tested for the HIV.

I hope this information helps.

It's an ARV treatment pill, its also used as PEP. PEP is given to HIV negative patients, who would have been exposed to HIV within 72 hours. PEP is taken for 4 weeks.
