Can you take cipro for a sore throat?

Ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic that is used to treat various types of bacterial infections, so it will only help, if the sore throat is caused by a bacterial infection.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.

It sounds as if you might be trying to diagnose having an infection and taking an antibiotic without the help of a doctor. Please, in no case should you EVER take Cipro without a confirmed infection and a doctor's prescription.

To risk these type of side effects because you simply have a sore throat is something that you could end up highly regretting if you end up experiencing any of the terrible side effects you risk when you even take one pill. Do not take antibiotics of any kind without a confirmed infection and a prescription
