What is the oval shaped pill ME 63 used for? I have a friend that found this pill by her 91 year old Mother's bedside and she is worried that it will harm her Mother.

To answer your question, Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethoprim is a sulfonamide antibacterial combination that is used in the treatment of a variety of bacterial infections.

Although its list of potential side effects makes this drug arguably one of the least desirable antibiotics on the market (in my opinion), all prescription drugs carry certain risk factors.

You can learn more about this drug on the page for Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethoprim Details

I hope this info helps!
