Wet Pills - Prednisone 10 Mg

I was cleaning my coffee pot with vinegar & water and it spilled out on my counter. My prednisone pills 10 milligrams were in a paper envelope. Most of them got wet and looks like they dissolved a little. But I took them out of the envelope to dry. Some of them fall apart when I pick them up. Is it still safe to take these. They were given to me for a cough from sinus and allergies.

I have follow up test every six month for cancer n removal of right kidney. Because fifteen years ago I had reaction to iodine. I have to take 50 mg 13 hrs before test then 50 mg 7 hours before the test n 50 mg 1 hr before test. Also I take 50 mg of Benadryl 1 hr before procedure. Nothing else to come off it. Each time I felt bad. N each time it got worse afterward the last two times I took prednisone like this. I was out for few months. At first I detoxed day n night for few days. Then bottom out. The last time was the worst. It was just few days after test. N I was out n all at once I felt bad. Went home n went down hill I couldn't think clearly. Very weak. Cried very easily. Did t drive for weeks. My children came n took care of everything. In luring me. Dr put me on depression med. n new anxiety med. sent me to get brain scan see if I had a stroke. It was good. Sent me to heart dr. Chest was feeling pressure. Heart was good. I gradually got better but took months. I am know off depression meds. Only occasionally take anxiety med r pain med. am physically n emotionally back to myself. The dr is going to do the test in six months. Using prednisone n benedryl I very concerned. I almost felt like a vegetable last time (a year ago). Please recommend some alternatives to prednisone or some ideas of what steps to take.

Sorry to hear about what happened to your pills. My thoughts are that they're probably still safe to take seeing how vinegar and water are considered to be safe in and of themselves. However, it would certainly be less potent if parts of the pills were dissolved or missing. And for that reason alone I'd inform my doctor of the situation to see if he/she is willing to replace the prescription so that I wasn't taking a partial dose to meet my medical needs. So I guess it just comes down to whether or not you still get the relief you need from whatever amount you still have left?
