Hi, can you help me please? These particular tablets are white with dots that appear light pink, where is this color derived from - what elements/source/dyes?

What are the markings on them?

That is what would enable me to look up these specific tablets for you to see what's used in them.

The actual ones manufactured by Watson do not have the specks in them, but they have purchased a few other generic manufacturers recently.

Thus, I need the markings in order to find these exact tablets. Thanks!

Hi, thanks for your reply. They are tablets oval in shape with light pink specks throughout. One side states, WATSON, the other 3202. If you need any other specs, please email me and I sure hope you can find the info. I seek!

Thanks for your help - much appreciated!

Hi, I thank you for replying, but it doesn't pertain to my original question concerning the derivative of the color whether that be by element, dye, or other means. That's what I need info. on.

@Ms67GTO (post #4),

The pill you're describing marked "Watson 3202" does in fact contain FD&C Yellow No. 6 as a dye listed in the inactive ingredients that make up the composition of the tablet.

According to wikipedia, "Sunset Yellow FCF, E110" is also another name used for this dye - in case you need to cross reference any specific details pertaining to its origin. However, my research shows that it is considered to be a synthetic food coloring.

Have you had any sort of issues with these types of dyes before?

Ms67GTO Says:

Thank you so very much for your response. I am highly allergic to all #s of red dye, of course that includes orange, purple, etc. I am also allergic to beet juice which is an all natural source for red dye and used in many products. Now you can see my dilemma with regards to any medication containing either beet juice or synthetic red dye.

My most recent hydrocodone/acet. Rx also has the pink specs in them. I'm not thrilled with Watson's meds, sub quality in my opinion.
