I have been prescribed endocet 10/325 for years and have had problems filling my script over the past 4 months. The script is do not substitute. . The pharmacy says its " discontinued" and gave me these Alvogen replacement that do NOTHING and make me feel sick. Is there anything generic close to the endocet that I can get? I can't take these Alvogen. Please and thank you.

Again...please take the time to read through the threads.

Watson was bought out by Activis. You would've read this multiple times in comments/responses prior to mine. The final sale took place about a year ago, as I opened my prescription and saw white oblong pills A333, which seems to bring most of us to the consensus that there is a variation in the active ingredient. Very tough pill to swallow (no pun intended). The pain relief for me, was not even remotely close to Watson brand. Personally, Watson 932 (10mg/325) worked extremely well for me. As soon as the company changed hands, the formula definitely changed (FDA - 20% variation in active ingredient allowed). Since then, I've tried 3 different manufacturers of generic 10/325 including:

Amneal (IP204 imprint)
Activis (A333 imprint)
Mallinckro (M523 imprint)

I am guessing that there are many chronic pain patients that would agree that these unfortunately, are not nearly the same as the Watson brand. If someone is able to afford name brand Percoset...these would definitely be the best option. I am certain that if Watson were magically able to re-establish themselves, and use the same formula as they have in the past, the 90% (if not more) of chronic pain patients would request Watson over any of the 3 generics I've listed above. The others hardly seem worth taking. Minimal relief.

***If anyone has any info (and/or feedback) on Endocet, I would greatly appreciate a reply, as I would like to locate this or find out what pharmacies will order this for you, if requested. From what I've read, Endocet seems to be the next best thing to the discontinued Watson tablet***

Goodluck to everyone in managing your pain. It's terrible that it has come to this. Very concerning.

Do you know if walgreens still carries the Watson 932? Or did they stay with the awful A333 pill?... Oxycodone 10/325.. Thank you

Hello Wharf Rat~ I was one of the ones on the perfect Watson 10/325 oxycodone (for my pain & no side effects). Since then in er with activis, & vicodin made me want to sleep, so I just started endocet by endo (not qualitest). My new pain management doc (we moved) also changed it to 5/325! God, unless I take 2 at a time, it doesn't help my pain! I will say that taking 2 of the 5/325 LASTS longer than taking 1 of the vicodin 10/300 by about 2 hours, but the problem is he only prescribed 2 a day, so I don't sleep at night, & am in horrific pain the rest of the day. I don't know if I should ask him for more a day, or get the "pure" as you say oxycodone & take a little tylenol. If I let him know all the problems I have had with the inactive ingredients, maybe he would write it for percocet dispensed as written. I don't know what to ask him for other than more. I am not getting really bad side effects (except horrible nightmares the little bit I can sleep), but with most drugs, that is probably normal. What do you think?

Jay.....because we take pain meds doesn't mean we're high or reaching euphoria as u put it. Ive never felt euphoric when I take my meds....NEVER! And the same goes for many here. My meds help take the severity of my pain down a few notches...not completely. ....but enough so im able to move without crying.....these meds are controlled by our doctors so taking more than prescribed wouldn't make any sense since we would be out of meds before our doctor will give us another script and we would be crippled with pain. I dont know if your a pain management patient. ..or familiar with how our meds are given but Dr s will only prescribe enough meds for 30 days....u have to see him again to get another script for another 30 days...etc..etc.. pharmacies will only refill ur script when ur coming up on ur 30th day so they wont give u more meds than prescribed by ur dr either so when ur in pain management. ...U MAKE SURE ur meds last u that 30 days so u don't do without! Now im no fool...I know there are those out here who r abusers which make them illegal users....but they're few n easily spotted. Theres other sites that have blogs for people who use this or that recreationally n discuss it openly among each other (as crazy as that sounds) so they dont really need our blog....its not like we re going to tell them how to feel high or whatever. ..we are here to help each other with legit issues and questions. I hope that made sense n maybe opened ur eyes a little to see that most of us dont and cant abuse or feel high with what we're given.

To all Be very careful of allowing these meds hav full control of u...the higher u r (euphoria) the harder the impact to earth. Stay grounded n b blessed!:)

Matt...the news on Watson's being bought out by Actavis n them replacing the Watson's Percocet with the Actavis brand is old news.......if anyone doesnt know this by now, its because theyre not reading thru these threads thoroughly. ...n if someone is posting info that has been brought up already, its because they're not reading through the threads thoroughly, which is what makes some of these threads longer then necessary. ..repetitive info because people dont take the time to read all the posts.....more n more people would find the answers they seek or info that would help them if they would just read through the posts. I hope whoever is reading this n new to a thread, this one or another, they read all the posts in the thread before they ask a question or add what they know.

Wharf rat.....theyre not the same medications....endocet is generic Percocet, not brand Percocet. .....your body was going through withdrawals. When u change from a pain med that u have been taking awhile to a different one, ur body goes through withdrawals. Thats why u suffered that one month then all was good after. Hope that helped.

Hey I have alot of Info on pharmaceuticals. Figured id let you in on some Info! Even though this won't make you any happier the REASON that the pharmacies aren't carrying Watsons anymore is because they are discontinued. Once Actavis bought Watson they picked which drug they would prefer so with the oxycodone 2.5s, 7.5, 10 mg they are now using Actavis A332 A333 A331. Although I believe they have chose the 5mg Actavis brand as well I have not heard or seen any. My source is the company themself and street research as well as internet.

I have a very bad degenerative back & other issues, we won't get into the depth of, but I'm in pain lots of my life anymore. I have no insurance for my medications that I'm prescribed, but long story short I have been on some form of percoset for a few years, same dosage & of all the ones that helped, Endocet just really worked the best. I would pay the extra monies over 100$ to get the brand endocet. So here lately I was taking off the endocet ( only taking out the Tylenol, APAP, ) thus just taking the oxycodone in 10 mg IR form, so this will be my second month & I must say when I first started this new pure oxycodone, it was way below its active ingredient than that of endocet, & trust me I got sick, very weak, & cold you name it what you want but it's was not good & luckily I'm a tough man & saw it out for the month, ( was 1/2 the cost ) well I was told by my pharmacist to try taking a half of Tylenol w/ it, & see if it made a difference, & maybe it did but most likely not. I didn't get that jolt of extra energy I was used to in endocet, & no I don't take it for that reason but have always noticed that the endocet allows me to get some house work & overall work in general done w/ out the pain. Not the same w/these new pure oxycodones. Prices being very expensive for the 15 mg or up so I just got my regular refill & I know it's crazy but this month I got the same script, filled by same group of great Pharmacists & the brand & all was the same. I must say WOW!, what a difference just night & day, I still take a half a Tylenol & or an Advil or aleve ( Aleve is suppose to work very well synergistically w/ oxycodone, many diagnostics done on this, long story short these guys are more potent than any endocet I've ever had. Very strange & goes to show from batch/lot that something did for sure change, pain starts going away in 30 min. Or less, much happier just hope they stay this good. It cannot be that my body had to adjust to the exact same amount of oxycodone, who knows what happened. With big pharma & the sold out US gov't., who knows but if you plan to have to take for long term, get rid of all the Tylenol, not worth the liver damage. Anyone have any reasons as to why I reacted this way to the same medication please help me out. I wish you all a pain free & an overall great day. Hari Om

My walgreens order the endocet for me...my usual location wont, but another Walgreen s in the same town will....go figure? Theyre the only ones out of all the other generics ive tried that help at all. Youre just going to have to go from pharmacy to pharmacy until one says they will....every town/location/state is different do no one here can tell u. As for the legal difference allowance in percentage from one generic to another....I dont care what anyone here says, IT IS 20%....it can be 20% below. .meaning its 80% or it could be 20% above , meaning there's more active ingredients than average @ 120%.....which I tend to think Watson did...put more active ingredients than the norm making it more powerful in pain relief n leaving all who used Watson's unable to find anything that comes close in pain relief. Now I dont know if that last part is a fact...just what I think with all ive read n come to be aware of since Watson generics went off the shelf...but the 20% part I DO KNOW n it is a fact.

The Walgreens entire drug chain switched from Watson 923 to Actavis A333. The reason for the change is called...PROFIT. It is obvious that A333 is a much cheaper narcotic, and has a great deal less pain suppression than Watson 923. However, pain aside, buying a cheaper compound in order to raise the price seems to be the norm for pharmacies, and we as patients do not have any say in the matter. I think it's called...Modern Medicine, as approved by the FDA. If one were prone to comparisons, the current situation would be similar to wearing a contraceptive. You get a sense of security while being screwed. Let it be said, and God forgive it!

I've taken Mall, Watson, Almatica and they all worked well for me. Then I was given Alvogen. Made me sick as a dog and completely depressed my respiratory and circulatory system. Refused to take them... The funny part about that is that I worked for that company a couple of years back. I am now taking Endo Percocet and my experience is much better.
