Watson 853 Vs M367

Updated

Hello I been on watson 853 for many years from walgreens but this past few months I notice they don’t work at all just sleepy? And I went to refill at Walgreens this month and They changed to m367 and they don’t help my pain at all. More sleepy and no relief from my pain. Anybody has any ideas? I don’t think I can return them. I use them for Headaches, Pituitary Brain Tumor, Lupus, and severe arthritis. And a few other health issues!!

No, in most cases you can't return them, due the risk of tampering, once they leave the pharmacy, although there are some that will make exceptions to help a patient.

Drowsiness can be a normal side effect of this medication, according to FDA reports, other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. It also carries the risk of being habit forming.

Has there been any change? How are you doing, now?

Same thing here - Why did Walgreens change my prescription refill from Watson 853 to M 367? What is the difference between these two?

My 10/325 norcos have not been working for my pain in the last few months. They pretty much don't do anything. They use to help for a few hours, but not lately.

Same here. The M367 is much less effective than watson 853. Walgreens said they cannot fet watson 853. Does anyone know a pharmacy in New Jersey that has watson 853?

I've had 8 ortho surgeries since 2013 and am about to have a reverse shoulder replacement. I will swear on the Bible that M367's do not have as much hydrocodone in them, therefore they aren't in compliance with the FDA!! I am on the FDA website and I have voiced my concern! They are going to look into the bulk compounds in generics. What really helps me are the Watson, white or yellow, also Qualitest 36|01 yellow. Hard to find, and Qualitest sold out yrs ago, but their name is still on them. There is a check mark, or some believe it's a V on the other side. I spend hours researching meds and the companies that make them!! 'M' stands for Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. They are the cheapest on the market!! I've asked 10 or more pharmacists why they've changed to them, same answer- they are cheaper!!! The FDA requires them all to be within 20% of the name brand formula! 20% less or more. I read that. Mallinckrodt is the oldest company of all. They are the only pharmaceutical company that has the governments permission to legally buy cocaine, and they turn it into pharmaceutical cocaine! I've had it used on me in the 90's for sinus irrigation. Anyway, I call around to see if I can find Norco by other companies instead of Mallinckrodt-M 367!!

Re: Beth (# 7) Expand Referenced Message

Your absolutely correct, what resurch I've done says. That when a brand new drug is made, the generic only needs to have 60% of the active ingredient. But what's happen here and me not just you. Is the Watson brand is no longer available, so the genic form becomes the standard. That means that 60% of the active ingredient, in meloncrt. Is only 60% of the generic, so basically it has a ton more fillers and less active hydro in it.

Since demanding another brand I have, cut my dose in half.
