Walgreens pharmacy manager just told me that they will only fill opiate perscriptions from pain management dr's for a maximum of 6 months.

I really can't blame you for being so frustrated with this whole situation going on in Florida. The number of patients in the entire state who are going through this, only appears to be rising rather quickly.

Is this the case too, with 'Mail Order' services through Walgreens or CVS?

I wouldn't be surprised if many pain patients left the state of Florida just to make life a little easier.

I went to Walgreen's as well as a host of others and they said the manufacturer is backordered on thm. My scrip is from a pain mgmt Dr. Not sure what else to try as here in FL they are cracking down on opiates. I am having both spine surgery and a full hysterectomy done and cant get pain medication thanks to these idiots coming here and going to the pill mills and getting tons of pills go back home to where they live and sell them for big bucks. Just pisses me off.

I live in brandon, have been w/ walgreens and been on dilaudid 8 for 3 yrs. Then out of no where in june I couldn't find anyone to fill them. Everywhere I went either didn't fill them, said they were on back order or would fill for any new patients. This month I found a shady compounding place to fill them for me but it cost $600 cash only. I hope the crap gets figured out soon. These ppl don't realize they're doing more harm then good rt now.

Wow 600 bucks is nuts. I paid $2.60 for a scrip of 150, 8mg through my part D drug program with Cigna. I just mailed the scrip to the mail order pharmacy abd had them 5 days later.

I have been to 50 CVS Walgreens and several small pharmacies and NO ONE has a single Oxycodone 30mg to fill my script! I live in the Tampa Bay area and have driven over 200 miles since Tuesday and can't fill my script. I'm flipping out. Can anyone please tell me what the heck is going on?

See if your prescription plan has a mail order pharmacy. If they do all you need to do is mail the scrip to them and they mail it back with a confirmation signature required. I send my in a priority mail envelope also signature required. I don't like sending a schedule 2 drug in the mail. It costs $5.45 for that and then my copay of $2.60. So not bad for under 10 bucks no hassle and I get my Dilaudud 8mgs.

I'm having the same problem, yet a drug dealer can fill at CVS in Kissimmee and sell his pills for $25.00 each. What is wrong with this system?? I'm so mad that the drug dealers are getting C!! prescriptions filled at the chain pharmacies and CPP are suffering terribly!!

This is the worst month ever trying to find my medicine. I am not sure what in the world is going on??? Have been to same stores twice a day, gone to other side of town, and on top of this, trying to work and take care of my loved ones. Does anyone know what the deal is with the specific month??? I broke down and cried after the 100th time I left my local pharm with a "sorry, we still have not gotten our order in yet!" These pharmacists think it's ground hog day when they see me. I want to cry. Had to cancel my scheduled surgery because of this HORRIBLE situation, too. Hoping my surgery will help the pain and can be done with this time filled predicament! Lengths people will go to... one example: saw a woman today with a cane, back brace, knee brace, and neck brace on. A little overdone, you think? Cracks me up.

If you have more problems getting them see what pharmacy your health plan has designated for mail order. I am disabled from multiple reasons. 1 is Fibrmyagia. I am in pain 24/7. I have Dilaudid 8mg from a real Dr. Not a pill mill. I use tele-med in PA. My medicare ins uses that pharmacy from mail order. Takes 5-6 days to get them. You mail scrip un and the send is back signature requird so it will not wind up in the wrong hands. This works for me. I hope you can do the dame. I moved to Florida from Maine in April and hply crap I have never seen anything like it in my life. I went to over 30 pharmacies and I was like screw it and called my ins co and they told me about the mail order. Was like cool. Good luck and God speed.

I tried the mail-order idea. I had my doctor write a script for a 3-month supply (this is what the Humana mail-order company said they do), and sent the script to them. I made sure I sent the script early enough to get the pills on time, since they said it would take 10-14 business days to get them to me. After about ten days, I called to check status, and they told me they were SENDING MY SCRIPT BACK! I asked why? They informed me that Florida has a law that forbids opiates to be delivered by mail--and Florida is the ONLY state with such a law!!! I was ready to blow a gasket! Thankfully, my doctor wrote me a new script right away and I was preparing for a repeat nightmare of visiting 100 pharmacies without luck, but what do you know--the very first Walgreens I tried filled it! Go figure! But Florida really needs to do something, because the people with real pain problems are getting hosed!

Yes and so we who really suffer, because pain has caused me to want to just end it,and i'm by far am not a hopeless person with nothing to live for, in fact with pain management I can do almost, everything I want. This does mean I cant nor do I want to jump aroung, or kickbox which my body would want a death wish. It pisses me off to for those of us who really suffer. Hope these idots dont lump us all together an if we are being trated by A pain clinic they obviously need to fill anything we have to have for me to even move.

thacodin a day. I am thankfull and happy about this after 2years of going straight without anything but tramadol. It's so true. so thankful as I haven t been too tempted i'm getting my meds getting MScontin and Vicodin. I think maybe ocycodone 30' are automaticly red flagged. Maybe you may have to try oother drugs besides 30 mg oxy IR, my pain docs in Colorado are being advised by DEA to put "a chronic pain patient" on an ER and a max of 3-4 breakthrough, if the breakthrough is not working then the dose of the ER will/should be increased. Just my thoughts and what I kniow about FL and their problems with oxy 30, im in CO and not many ppl get 30mg they'll try oxycontin (oxycodone Er, or cr), even if the patient has been on the 30's for a decade

I've been reading all of the posts about people in Florida having trouble filling oxycodone and other C11 scripts. I live in California, and the Walgreens here will not fill any narcotics prescriptions either. Apparently this is now a nation wide problem. I am a Kaiser patient and have been on oxycodone tabs and dilaudid injections for 7 years, for a ruptured disk in my back. I've been on this medication for so long because my doctor refuses to let me have it surgically repaired. As of Jan 1, 2014, my doctor cut off ALL of my pain meds and said I will basically have to live with the pain. So, it sounds like it's not just the pharmacies that are cracking down on the use of narcotics for people who truly need them, but some of the HMO's are jumping on the band wagon as well.

Hire or call an attorney. Morgan and Morgan OUT OF TAMPA ARE FIGHTING FOR THE CANNABIS LAW BEING PASSED. WHEN MY TIME COMES And IT IS ALMOST HEAR I AM GOING TO THEM AND I DO NOT SMOKE CANNABIS. SO FOR ALL YOU DRUGGIE'S WHO CAME TO FLORIDA TO GET YOUR OXY AND WHAT EVER EALSE ! And NOT EVEN LIVING IN THIS STATE. YOU SCREWED ALL THE TRULY SICK PEOPLE. I HAVE A LIST. I WILL FIGHT OR DIE IN THE HOSPITAL. So if you can't get your Medicine go to the hospital, go in by ambulance if you have to. I just for see total REBELLION IN 50 state, and it makes me sad. I also think if your MD is doing this he should ween you off. but the reason he is not going to get sued because he gave you a scrip and you felt safe and he covered his bottom! See a lawyer. And I don't work for Morgan and Morgan. I am also in chronic pain don't do the surgery. They failed to tell me they have to cut nerves in your back to get to your spin. The spasms are awful, to the point of vomiting sometimes. And I an tuff. I lost a lot. Prayer has helped me from committing suicide.

I think I would go to the E.R. if I was in the sort of pain you described. They can give you a shot of cortisone and that should clear it all up. Or admit you and administer morphine.

Re: Slomo (# 32) Expand Referenced Message

I ask these same questions! Like how in the hell can someone have over 10 different surgeries on ten different areas of their body spanning years, not related, no diseases, no cancer - never had a strenuous job, hell they've never worked more than 5 years out of their life and they're 62 yrs. old and still claiming constant pain!!! They had a back surgery 20 frickin' years ago to correct, what?, I don't know because they have never had anything wrong with them! Anyway, no way in hell someone has this many ailments and surgeries for 30 frickin' years long. The body heals itself of injuries. I understand broken bones can still hurt up to a couple years later but they're not going to cause severe pain 24/7 enough to be on heavy duty cancer pain meds around the clock. I know several people who lie about pain so they can stay in their little stupor around the clock. They become nasty people too, antisocial, except on social media of course! They lie, they're troublemakers, they're just nasty. I am well aware there are some very painful diseases and of course those suffering with end life cancer pain who truly need heavy duty pain meds but it's not the people I described above, far from it. They do not take their meds as prescribed either, they abuse them. They smoke and burn holes in all their furniture, they nod out in their plates of food. Hell, how about this: One claimed to be so exhausted from so much housework around the clock that they had no time to even shower AND fell asleep while standing at the sink doing dishes!!! YES, this person actually believed in their mind that they were exhausted from housework. They don't even have a job! The sad part is their family has allowed and enabled this behavior from this very obvious full blown drug addict. Over 30 years of this and their spouse is also addicted and abusing pain medications. There is no legitimate reason for this person to still be on pain medications meant for end of life cancer patients. This is what needs to STOP.

What is wrong is people writing about others selling pills for 25.00 each. You think the DEA and doctors don't read these posts? They do. The last thing these ppl want to see is anyone making big money so this is part of the problem along with of course the fakers who were getting heavy duty pain meds for years on end. All the fakers and people saying how much they get for pills is what has caused all these problems for the really sick people who are suffering now.

That's not entirely true! I can understand why you feel the way you do because there are a lot of phony liars out there, but what about us? Me being one of them that the pain is real and true! The bad ones ruin and make things really bad for the rest of us!!!

That is unbelievable!!! Simply wrong, wrong, wrong!!! Group litigation is in order! Anyone interested? All pharmacies that do not comply with a legitimate hard copy from your doctor should be filled by law!!!

How you can tell if somebody is lying about their painting and the medication is not helping them. When they say I'm always in so much pain it means that they're lying and they're addicts because when you take your medication it's suppose to alleviate you of your pain. A lot of people that ride the little carts and wear all these braces and Canes are a bunch of liars they're not in pain they just want to get their medication that they are addicted to but they want to call everybody else a liar. I have seen the lie with my own two eyes. Just remember if somebody tells you that they're in constant pain they are lying why are they taking their pain medication if they are in constant pain that means that the medication does not work. They like the big money they make I guess rite.

They are so full of crap, I'm going to a pharmacy for the last three years and filled them with no problem. all the sudden the pharmacist has told me the last time I filled my prescription if that would be the last one he fills, but if I walked in with cash I bet you that cash that he would fill it. he's saying the reimbursement is down. I've tried reaching out to my insurance company and they are trying but they're having about as much luck as I am. this is frustrating. I feel that we are being picked on and the people that have back problems or foot problems or any kind of problem that requires a narcotic or just being singled out due to the junkies that are out there that sell this medication and buy it to sell or abuse. I cannot function without it and I don't know what I'm going to do and I refuse to go to detox or rehab just because the pharmacy will not fill out a prescription for me. I feel that they should be fined. It's just a bunch of crap that they're putting people through and I would like to say that if their family was going through something like this how they would deal with it? I'm really annoyed if you can't tell.
