I have been on 60mg of Cymbalta for about a year now. My Doctor gave me starter pack of Vybrid. Her instructions were to stop Cymbalta and start with 10mg Vybrid for two weeks and then go to 20 and stay on that amount. However after four days of Vybrid, 10mg I was dizzy as hell and disoriented. I have been reading other people's stories about weaning off cymbalta while taking Vibryd. Is this ok? My doc doesn't seem to know and we don 't have any psychiatrists around here. So if you are someone who has a good doc, and put you on Vybrid and you were on Cymbalta, Please, please tell me how you are doing this transistion. The reason for stopping cymbalta is because my doc thinks it's messing with my norepinephrine too much, causing rage and irritation.

I was on Cymbalta and then was transferred to Effexor and now I have weaned off of Effexor to Vybriid. Cymbalta was definitely hard to come off of, but glad I did. I am very dizzy coming off of Effexor, which seems to be like Cymbalta, and going onto Vybriid. I had lots of nausea.

How did the Effexor work for you? My doc was considering that for me.

I have had major depressive disorder for well over 10 years (Im reluctant to say just how long). I was on wellbutrin 450mg, cymbalta 60mg. went off cymbalta completely and started vybrid while maintainint the wellbutrin. Getting off the cymbalta was hard and starting vybrid was the most difficult drug experience Ive had; very afgitated, uncomfortable, edgy and somewhat suicidal.
I would not suggest coming off cymbalta and starting vybryd at the same time. It seems to me that going through cymbalta withdrawl while introducing vybrid into your regimen is a recipe for serious mental torture.
That being said, I have since re-introduced cymbalta at 30mg. So now im at cymbalta 30, wellbutrin 450 and vybrid 40...Its been about 6 weeks and I have some improvement but its toucn n go. Im hoping for the best.
As for you, I wish you the best of luck. Take care of yourself and be persistant and assertive in your treatment; I have had to be the one initiating drug changes because all of the MDs have just let me languish on drugs that werent working.
