White round pill says Lederle on one side and has a X score on other. About the size of a 390 eveready watch battery. Want to know what this is. ## It is Diamox (acetazolamide). White round pill with double score one side and Lederle with a cursive L on the other side. ## Do you know the dose of this Tablet in mg? ## I found a PDF leaflet on this medication from Medsafe (NZ), and it states: " DIAMOX tablets are round, white, cross scored and marked with “Lederle” on the back... The active ingredient in DIAMOX is acetazolamide. Each tablet contains 250 mg acetazolamide. DIAMOX tablets also contain the following inactive ingredients: - sodium starch glycollate - povidone - calcium hydrogen phosphate - maize starch - magnesium stearate "

Loved Hypotears and used for years. I recently found out that it contains BAK (Benzalkonium chloride) as a preservative which has shown to cause cellular deterioration of parts of the eye. I am pretty sure that this is the reason it was discontinued. It is very upsetting to know that BAK was never listed as an ingredient. ## Hello Russell, I'm not positive that is the reason that this particular brand of carboxymethylcellulose sodium has been discontinued as there are others that also contain benzalkonium chloride that are still available on the market. There has been a lot of speculation as to why the brand has been discontinued as the reason was never officially released. Some speculate that the preservatives were too harsh while others believe that the cost to manufacture had gon...

I am 54 years old which I am told is fairly young for this situation. I also had Lasik surgery 10 years ago and my vision was perfect for distance. I was only beginning to need reading glasses. It was very difficult to accept the changes that started occurring in my right eye especially since my vision was so great beforehand. I had surgery (vitrectomy) for a macular hole in Jan of 2014. The surgery was successful but I did develop a cataract very quickly which almost always happens after this surgery. Much to my dismay, the same situation presented in my left eye in Dec of 2014. I knew immediately what was going on so I made an appointment with my surgeon. We decided to try the injection this time since my hole was very small and he figured it was a 50/50 chance in my case. I had the i...

Hello. I’m Rick. I was wondering about an issue with my left eye drooping when I get up in the morning. Someone mentioned it could be an eye allergy so I bought Visine allergy drops and it helps for like 3 hours then it starts to droop again, then I put the drops in and it’s fixed again. Just wanted some opinions. Also, I forgot to mention my eyebrow moves upward towards my hair and when I use the drops it relaxes again. Thanks for any thoughts. ## Have you consulted your medical care provider? Do you have any diagnosed medical conditions? Do you take any medications on a regular basis? The FDA lists the typical optical issues from allergies as including eye redness, tearing, itching, and general irritation, but drooping it not a normal issue associated with them. How much s...

In the last six months i have been suffering with dry mouth. Bloodtests show nothing abnormal. At my last dentist visit lots of decay and i need extensive work. Second opinion agrees. The only med i have used long term about 15 yrs is XALATAN for Glaucoma. I would like to know if anyone else has experienced same. Also the generic that im forced to use by my crappy insurance comes via Puerto Rico which some areas still dont have power from last years hurricane. Xalatan or LATANAPROST is temperature sensitive. COINCIDENCE? ## The FDA doesn't report this medication as being known to cause that as a side effect. Most of its common ones are ocular, and may include increased iris pigmentation, blurred vision, itching, and redness. The dental issues may just be due to the dry mouth. What o...

I have been on Durezol drops 6x day for over a year and have gained 20 pounds! My IOP was so low that they could not get a reading and the Durezol is being used to increase the pressure. I will be on them indefinitely. Not happy about the weight gain. ## The FDA classifies this as a steroid class medication, so weight gain can be a typical side effect of it, along with dizziness, headache, eye irritation and acne. Are you also watching your diet and getting plenty of exercise? Such actions may help to mitigate the weight gain. ## Please get a second opinion asap. Durezol is not intended for that high of a dose. It is very strong and will increase inflammation and eye damage which actually lowers the eye pressure causing hypotony. This happened in my case and also caused macular edema. T...

Can eyes become sensitive to light after laser surgery for glaucoma? How long does the sensitivity last? Are there any other side effects from laser surgery to eyes? ## Any procedure carries the risk of causing side effects. The FDA includes light sensitivity among them, as well as eye pain, stinging, and tearing. Did your surgeon not provide you with any details on the possible side effects, or risks? Did they provide you with any special instructions for aftercare? Are you on any medications? Can you please post back with more details, so I can research this more for you? Thanks!

Hi. I am a 24 year old girl. For the last two days I've felt pain in my left eye and swelling. My doctor prescribed me Taxim-O-200 and also tells me that if it happens next time you'll have to use power spect, but right now my eye sight is ok. Please tell me if everything will be ok with me? ## Hello, Sunny! How are you? This is an antibiotic that's used to treat various types of infections. But what type of doctor did you see for it? It's incorrect to assume that such a thing would have any effect on your eyesight, if it occurs again, because not all such afflictions do. Did they mention what caused it? ## Yesterday I went out of town and couldn't go to the washroom and couldn't drink water for 8 hours; and today this morning I'm experiencing a burning sensa...

Has anyone experienced loss of smell and taste since getting injections? ## What did your retinal specialist say about the cause of loss of smell and taste? Were you on Lucentis or Avastin before the start of Eylea? ## I haven't been able to find any information that lists such symptoms as being known side effects of this medication, but it's very difficult to know how any drug will affect any given person that takes it. Have you contacted your doctor about it? Learn more Eylea details here. ## I have been having inj's. for amd since Oct 2010. First Lucentic for about a year, then Avastin. Hello, my dad is 76 years old and two months ago an embolism occurred to his right eye. The upper half of the right eye lost the vision in curtain form. He started hyperbaric oxygen therapy immediately after the embolus. After the oxygen therapy, he got positive results and the vision was almost %100 again. During the controls, nothing was found in the heart and brain, but there was %90 congestion in the left carotid and he had a carotid surgery. After surgery, embolus arised again to the same eye and he lost the vision of this eye again. Subsequently, all controls and hyperbaric oxygen therapy were repeated. At the moment right eye is almost completely blind and blurry. After the second embolus all the controls were repeated, they couldn’t find anything. Then we went to the hospital

Hi. When my partner got an sti they gave him doxytet capsules and now his vision is being affected. What might be the underlying problem? ## Hello, Nompilo! How are you? I'm sorry, but I don't quite understand what you mean. Doxytet is an antibiotic and the U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Do those explain his symptoms? If not, can you please post back and clarify? Thank you! ## Hi. I've got a smelly discharge yellowish in colour. Can I use doxytet tablets to treat it?

Is there an over the counter eye drop that starts with T? ## Based on my research, I only came across two brands that started with a T. I can't say however, if these are the only one's on the market that begin with this letter: -"Tears" Naturale Free Lubricant Eye Drops, 60 Single-Use Vials -"TheraTears" Lubricant Eye Drops, Single-Use Containers TheraTears appears to be a common brand here in the U.S.; so I think it's a good match. Was there anything in particular that was special about this brand of eye drops you're looking for? ## I feels pain in eyeballs with tears. Eyes got reddish and iching. My (inherent) wide-angle glaucoma was diagnosed by a kind man, my Optician. His body language guarded, he searched for someone along with me, to break bad news, noting irreversible damage. I'd rapidly lost by failure to account for 30% of my adult vision. Being without all/any treatment for the Glaucoma for about twenty agonizing months. Indicating that I begin using Xalatan "one drop in each eye before bed daily." Adding "If I used more drops that it would not help my situation." I believe I disagree yet without power to convince. Factually; for whatever reason, I DO enjoy relief from pain, headache, visible swelling, (iop?) when that prescribed amount is readministered 8 or 12 hours again later (BID). I experienced marked relief; well, what and why the discussion? ...

How long can you have latisse before it stops being effective? If you don't open it and use it for a few months does the active ingredient(bimatoprost) stop working? Do you have to have fresh product? ## What is the expiration date provided on the packaging, or label? It is always best to stick with that, and not use it past that date, since it may lose effectiveness. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including dry eyes, darkening of the eyes, headache, and light sensitivity. Are there any other questions?

eye drops ## Is it possible for rastasis eye drops to cause the blood to thin so that clotting is difficult. My husband has been using these drops for about a week and a cut on his hand was still bleeding profusely the next morning. This is very uncommon for him and rastasis is the only new medication he is using. ## Restasis is listed as containing Cyclosporine, it is used in drop form to treat chronic dry eye. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including irritation, redness, burning, and eye irritation, and yes, it has also been reported to cause bleeding and clotting disorders in some patients. How is he doing, now? Has there been any change?

Do other glaucoma patients run out of Lumigan much quicker than their other eye drops? ## Hello people. notice I am new to the privileges of using this Interweb. More to the point, I am also new to the awareness of and treatments for my "inherent wide-angle Glaucoma". The (use before bedtime eye-drops Latanoprost) was RX dispensed in a teensy container. One drop in each eye daily and ALWAYS empties 5-7 days after it is opened. This container ALWAYS shows 1-2 more applications remaining in the container which; so far, I can't get out. This container is $101.93. The label "claims" to hold 29 days of doses. This IS mathematically impossible by my understanding. This fact being ALSO supported by several lucid and perplexed medical professionals. I am relieved to read ano...

Hello. I am curious if Terramicina works at all or better on a stye than Tobramycin? ## Most do not require treatment, according to NIH reports, they will usually go away on their own, though it may take about a week, or so. As to using either of these medications, since they are not specifically formulated for optical use, thus, they might not be sterile and safe for use in your eye. According to the FDA that means they could worsen the issue, or cause additional infections. How are you doing? Has there been any change?
