If you thought you did get a false positive you should ask for a re-test (confirmation test) using GC/MS testing. GC/MS is the gold standard for any drug testing whether it's a hair drug test or urine drug test. If it was a urine screen also known as a dip test or home test then you need to insist on GC/MS confirmation test. Usually a dip test is reliable but a lot can go on in the human body so it might be possible.

I am regularly take atenelol 100mg one a day methimazole 5 mg three times a week ipramine hcl 50mg two at nite temazapan 30mg one at nite until two months ago I was also taking: Oxycodone 30mg two, four times a day Oxycontin 40mg one twice a day.. I was taking Venlafaxine) 75mg & was changed to Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) 100mg for MDD. I was taking Fentanyl transdermal 75mcg/h q 48 hrs along with Oxycodone/APAP 10/325, as needed for chronic pain. A UDS I came back showing negative for opiates & was discharged from my Dr. for not taking my meds as prescribed when I was & now having to look for another Dr. & having to withdraw from my meds! Will either of those SSRIs cause a false positive for opiates on the UDS?

Sodium is in almost everything and it is very high in most processed foods, you even run into in most sweets. As to the edema, you really need to see your doctor about it.
