I have never been successful on the Aurobindo Venlafaxine. I have tried a combo of Teva (150mg) and Zylus (37.5 mg) for 30 days to great success. I want to take the generic version as the brand is over $1000 for 90-days, with insurance. I got the 30-day's worth locally at Publix to try it. Now I’ve received the 90-day prescription from the mail and it’s the Aurobindo brand. Could there be a difference? The one thing my dr is doing this time is she has increased the dosage by 37.5 mg. I don’t know if that is why it’s working or if it’s that it’s NOT the Aurobindo brand? I would greatly appreciate any opinions. ## How much difference is GENERIC FROM BRAND IN STRENGTH ETC? ## I'm not familiar with that brand of medication but I do know that every...

I just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself on these forums. My name is Dan and I'm a social worker and I do mental health research. One of the issues that I see come up time and time again, but that is rarely openly discussed in my field, are the positive and negative effects antidepressants can have on sexual health. It's an area I'm researching more now, but am hopeful to converse about the topic here in an effort to learn more myself and to hopefully share some of my research/knowledge/projects too. ## You are welcome on this site, but anti depressants are not good. They've caused more problems than just sexual health. Just like all meds that the government thinks they have to regulate these should be. Instead they think the answer is to let them control what ...

Hi I've been on venlafaxine for years the amneal brand. Well now they have stopped making it. Can anyone recommend a brand that causes the least amount of side effects. My pharmacy says they only carry the zydus brand. I'm going to have to try it but I'd rather not be a guinea pig one more time. Any opinions out there on Best brands. Thank you ## Venlafaxine Extended Release by Osmotica Pharmaceutical is exactly the same as name brand, don’t know the best brand in regular venlafaxine.

I would rather have Xanax. They work better than the Venlafaxine 75mg pill marked 93 7382. What are your thoughts between the two? ## These are different classes of medications, Xanax is a benzodiazepine that is most commonly used to treat anxiety, and some pain disorders. It carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and dry mouth. It can usually be taken as needed, and will have some effect within 15 to 20 minutes of taking it. Venlafaxine, however, is an SNRI, it is most commonly used to treat anxiety, and depression. Additionally, rather than taking it as needed, it must be taken on a regular basis, and will take about a month to reach its full level of efficacy in your body. Its side effects may include na...

I want to get off of venlafaxine HCL 150 mg 24 HR SA Tab. There is no score line. Can I cut it in half and take just half? ## No, from what you've listed, this tablet cannot be cut in half, that could result in your receiving too much of the medication at once. The SA stands for sustained action, which is just another way of designating it as a time released medication. Learn more Venlafaxine details here. The best thing to do would be to consult your doctor for a proper tapering schedule and to ask them to prescribe a lower dosage, or one that isn't time released to make it easier for you. Are there any other questions or concerns? ## I have been on Venlafaxine for over ten years. I know that I need assistance with my mood / mental state but would like to get off the meds, I do...

My pharmacy just switched generics. Ever since I have been feeling increasingly worse. Today I had a major reaction. Sweats, nightmares, tremors, speech problems. So bad that when I went to my dr she told me to stop taking the medication which I have been on for two years immediately. Now I'm afraid that I'm going to be feeling awful. ## Hello, Karen! How are you feeling? Did you experience any other withdrawal effects? The FDA lists them as possibly including nausea, dizziness, fever, chills, rebound depression and diarrhea. Did you doctor prescribe an alternative? ## I was taking teva brand venlafaxine xr 150 and the pharmacy switched to aurobindo brand and by the end of the day I was in withdrawls brain zaps and dizziness

I have taken Venlafaxine XR Capsules - 2 150 mg per day (a high dosage). They were made by the same manufacturer for the first 3 or 4 years. Then, my insurance company switched to the manufacturer Aurobindo. Since then, I have had severe joint and muscle pain, primarily in my arms, but also somewhat in my hands. This pain is so severe that without aspirin, Tylenol, or Aleve, I can barely reach or lift things. Could this pain be due to the change in manufacturerr of my Venlafaxine XR? ## Hello, Debra! How are you? How long have you been taking the one from Aurobindo? Usually, those types of symptoms would be side effects experienced, when first starting such a medication, or when your dosage is raised, as reported by the FDA. When I first started Prozac and each time we upped my dosage, ...

I have been on Cymbalta for RSD/CRPS pain and my VA doctor wants me to switch to VENLAFAXINE HCL 75MG 24HR SA CAP. She is saying I do not need to dosage down off the cymbalta and to just start taking the VENLAFAXINE HCL 75MG 24HR SA CAP 2x's per day. I am concerned as I do not see anything in the listing for being used for nerve pain. Just for Depression. Can you please tell me if this is used for RSD/CRPS pain? My pharmacist states it will not be effective for the pain. I am not depressed and I am already taking 38 pills per day. ## Hello, Bobbette! How are you? Both of these medications are classified by the FDA as being SNRIs, which means you can switch cleanly from one to the other and they are both used to treat the same conditions. Typical side effects are listed as possibly i...

My health insurance recently changed my Effexor ER to Tier 3--making it more than 2 times the monthly cost. Has anyone changed to the generic venlafaxine that is not extended release successfully? I prefer to not use non-US pharmacies. I can not find venlafaxine extended release as a generic option in the US--only the regular. Thanks for your help! ## RE: Differences in generic manufactures of Venlafaxine - Would one manufacturer's brand differ from another manufacturer's? The pharmacy said it's all the same. They say the availability of the product is why they switch.

93 on half of the pill and blank on other side. It's kind of a fat pill. ## I need to identify a peach colored pill with a N on top n a 75 on bottom filled with beads in an oval shape. Not sure what it is. Anyway I can send you a pic to help ## @Cp, Do you happen to know what color the pill is that you're describing? @Lisa, As far as I know, capsules are the only type of pill to contain beads, so I think it's pretty rare to hear about an oval shaped pill containing beads... Might you be referring to "capsules" being oval in the sense that they curve around the edges? I only ask because I located a peach colored capsule with a capital "N" on top of a dividing line, with the number "75" printed below it [in red ink]. This particular pill turned out to b...

I was just informed by my pharmacy today today that my insurance will no longer allowe me to take Venlafaxine XR 150mg twice a day. They are only allowing it once a day. I have been taking this dosage since 1996. I called my psych and she said that my insurance company would not approve a prescription approval to keep me at my original dosage. She said the FDA made this happen and that is why my insurance company (Illinicare/Medicaide) is not covering it. She said that all insurance companies are doing this. I don't know what to do. I went on the internet to find out any info for this change in coverage and found nothing. I was given no explanation by the pharmacist, my psych or insurance company. Does anyone know what is going on here? ## Hello, Jenny! How are you? I am sorry about...

I have been taking generic Venlafaxine from Tega Pharma for the past 5 years and have had no issues. My pharmacy is now using the Aurbino manufactured version. I had an extream adverse reaction and nearly ended up in the ED. I was basically going through withdrawal. I reported the event to both the drug company and FDA. Something is seriously wrong with the Venlafaxine Aurobino is producing. Please report your issues so the FDA can take action. ## I am currently going through this same issue. I have been taking venlafaxine from Qualitest, the generic for Effexor for at least a decade and the brand prior the generic becoming available with no issues- it worked with no noticeable side affects. Then Publix corporate greed to save a few pennies a pill switched to Nortstar extender without even informing me. By the time I figured it out that Nothstar's venlafaxine was causing my high, depression, chronic fatigue, constant malaise, internal organ and external varieties of pains I had already suffered through many months of these and more shellfish symptoms. Whether it is a placebo and just suddenly cut off all supply of absolutely necessary decade +long drug in my system or contained harmful fillers-who knows for sure. But for certain it messed up my system and life for along time
