Utah, Subutex, Suboxone, Buprenorphine Need Doctor Please Help (Page 2)

Updated

I am looking for affordable Subutex, suboxone, buprenorphine doctor in Utah near the Salt Lake Valley or North Salt Lake, I just lost my insurance and I don't have a lot of money. I have been on subutex for 4 years and I have been without and am very very sick. I can't get out of bed and I am just trying to survive one minute at a time. If anyone can help me at all it would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Did you ever have luck finding a Buprenorphine, Subutex, Suboxone Dr. here in Provo or even close around in Utah County?

If it's a white small pill it's more than likely subutex. It's still buprenorphine just doesn't have the blocker & less expensive than suboxone.

Hi Audge,

I know it's been awhile, but I was wondering if you ever found a doctor. And, not because I'm looking for one, but because I felt your desire through your posts for doctor, and quick! Hoping the best for you!

I dont know about what happens u.s.a but in Australia people have been told that bupe or subutex is some kind of wonder treatment easy to come off ect ,from what iv experienced and witnessed is it is very hard to get off people are usually over prescribed and iv seen a lot of people turn into nervous wrecks,up one minute terribley depressed next minute.I dont know what happens if you have an accident and need pain relief ,nothing gets passed the sub or bupe !if this is the best they can do with modern medicine,i think an opiate substute would be a healthier way to go,after all opium has been used since the Pharoah period for pain relief, sometimes i think these new meds are just a money spinner for the chemical companies ,afterall who else but drug users would be perfect guinea pigs ..

Good morning Audge,

That is absolutely amazing! I'm happy that you have a doctor to take care of you in your journey through sobriety! Take care and provide some updates periodically if you can!

Re: Lou (# 34) Expand Referenced Message

Hi Lou,

So, you don't think it's a good idea to be pregnant and taking Buprenorphine (Subutex)? Please elaborate, as I'm simply interested in your perspective on this, and I would appreciate your insight!

As I've read through research, and found through the experience of others, it is ABSOLUTELY dangerous for a pregnant woman to begin withdrawing during pregnancy, as the baby will be in dire trouble due to the lack of medication. The benefit greatly outweighs the risks, although the likelihood of your baby having to be detoxed upon birth is ever present. So, this is why I would agree to keep a pregnant woman on during pregnancy and begin the weaning process after she gives birth to her baby. What are your thoughts please?

Re: SunnyeRose (# 35) Expand Referenced Message

Im only going on what i have heard ,hopefully i am wrong and you are correct ,iv had friends who went through hell getting off the smallest dose of sub ,bup after being told that is easy to come off compared to methadone ,i didnt like the mood swings with sub ect ,any way good luck with it im not in usa so could be different there ,im sure if you have a good dr you and baby will be ok,i dont think it would be good trying to self medicate off the street these days, a lot of drs are not up to date with some new meds,iv seen a lot of people prescribed far too much ,if you can get away with a smaller dose as long as it holds you i think easier in the long run,i am not an expert on the subject by any means im sure you will be in safe hands, great to see your thinking of your new baby. Good luck modern medicine has come a long way in last 5yrs..

Re: Lou (# 36) Expand Referenced Message

Hi Lou,

I'm not the one that's pregnant :) I've heard many stories regarding the ease and the difficulty of coming off Buprenorphine, and in my honest opinion, I think it truly jus depends on the individual, their rate of metabolism, how long they've been on Buprenorphine, how long they had been on drugs, etc., etc. I've also read from many people that weaning down to 1mg of Buprenorphine still made it quite difficult to jump off completely, whereas, others have said that weaning made the withdrawal symptoms they did have tolerable! No two people have the same makeup, so it's to be expected that there will be many different versions of experience regarding the use of Buprenorphine, thus, my advice would be to take the experiences to heart with a grain of salt, and use it simply for knowledgeable purposes, rather than the blue print for how it will be for everyone!

What country are you in? Do you have an accent :)

Re: SunnyeRose (# 37) Expand Referenced Message

Hi Sunnyerose, im in Australia. Yes I guess I have an accent. I think you are right on regarding trying to get straight, a real lot depends on your state of mind. I have always found that if you have something to look forward to or something to replace it with really helps. You have to really want to do it. I'm getting older now but have always found if I have anything to look forward to really helps. Also some people mean well with their advice. I've actually come across people who seem a bit disappointed that you want to try and do the right thing, especially if something good is helping you get off that crazy ride! I grew up in the 70s, vietnam war, ect. It seemed to be everywhere in those days. Good times, but a lot of people didnt make it. I finally got out, had a family, live in the country. Silly me fell off a horse a few yrs ago, so now back where I started sort of. Painkillers this time. I think things hurt more when you get older. Anyway, I really hope everything is good for you! We are lucky. Enjoy your life. Humans are pretty strong I think. But now im still chasing that dam dragon. Anytime you want some advice please message me. Good luck and God bless you.

Re: Lou (# 38) Expand Referenced Message

Hi Lou,

Thank you for the sincere wishes! It's amazing the positive effect someone else's struggle can have on another person! I always believed that we go through everything, good or bad, for a reason and although we may not always understand what those purposes are, it's necessary for us to endure until the end! Our lives really aren't our own, when you truly meditate on that fact! And, I wholeheartedly agree with you that you have to erase and replace during sobriety and recovery simply because we can't leave any room for that addict Dragon to return and take up space! So, for every bad or drug addicted habit we have, we have to replace it with a new and positive habit- whatever that may be for You!

There have been many instances since I've been clean that shows me the last 6 years of my life happened in the ways it should have in order to bring me to this place I'm currently at- physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually! It all has to come together for the grand scheme of things, and accepting this (for me) makes each day easier to face and every burden lighter to carry!!

I've always LOVED the Australian accent :) I simply melt whenever I hear it, whether a woman or man speaks lol I jus love it that much, and if I were to have one, it would certainly be Australian :)

I'm jus praying for the day when I'm able to give back and help others just like me, and their families!! I'm going back to school to be a Substance Abuse Counselor/Addiction Specialist, and I'm excited about the new ventures coming up for me!

Well Lou, as you've stated, we have to want better for ourselves, and together we can overcome the binds of addiction to live a healthy, happy, productive, and drug-free life!!! IM ANXIOUS TO GIVE BACK WHATS BEEN GIVEN TO ME! This is the ONLY time when being anxious is accepted by me :) yet, as the cycle continues, what I give will also be given to someone else until addiction becomes truly manageable in the lives of many!
