Unable To Fill Dilaudid Perscription!

i am currently unable to fill my Dilaudid 2mg due to no pharmacies carrying it. My dr has tried everything and feels that Dilaudid would be my best bet for pain control. I have a mass in my stomach and in severe pain. Due to not being able to find the Dilaudid I have to go to the ER every other day for pain injections and hydration. Any advice?

Beck have you tried a compounding pharmacy? You may also try to get the social worker at the hospital to help you with resources. Can you fill your rx at the hospital where you are being treated?

Hi Beck,

I understand that none of the pharmacies you've checked carry it in their stores, but have you also considered mail-order options through Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, and others? It may take longer to arrive, but at least there would be a light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak.

Another thought is to simply ask your doctor for whatever else he/she feels might be the next best alternative to Dilaudid for your pain. Since a prescription is worthless if it can't be filled, it may be necessary to improvise a new treatment plan. It seems odd to me that nobody carries it where you live, as over in Southern California I have a friend who gets their 4mg Dilaudid filled every month without any trouble - at least from what I've been told. Maybe it's just the pharmacies in your area, but you could try calling around outside of your zip code?
