I do not know much about the drug in question. Many pain killers designed for humans takes a toll on an animals insides. Our dog (45 lbs) has been on a pain killer by the name of PIROXICAM for over 3 years without showing any side effects. Many vets. promote drugs and in return get lunches, free samples etc. from pharmacutical sales reps.. Please request information on PIROXICAM. I am not a vet. nor a salesman. Hope this helps.

Yes, sorry, this site does not have any vet information here, so we cannot help you with that usage info.

Many drugs that are useful in people also turn out to be useful in dogs.

Gabapentin is very safe, and I have personally prescribed it to many canine patients; it occasionally causes nausea on it's first dosing, however. And a note to the person who inferred that veterinarians prefer a product because they're given a free lunch, etc. is greatly misinformed. We as veterinarians have one intent: to improve the well being of our patients. That's the sole reason why we do what we do!
