Urine Drug Test For Ambien (Page 3)

I am in drug court cause I had addiction to lortab. I get drug tested about 2-3 times a week. They are really strick on what we can take, I mean we can't even take advil. I have really bad insomnia and have a prescription of ambien. So my question is will ambien show up in a urine screen???

Ambien absolutely , positively does NOT ever , EVER appear as an opiate. The way drug tests work is they measure not the * actual* drug but what the drug metabolizes as once it's worked thru the system into urine. If you test positive for an opiate and the only drug you taken in question is Ambien ( or Zolipem) and you test positive for an opiate, it is most likely a false positive due to a combination of it plus another drug giving the appearance of the metabolate. I work for a pain management Dr, and I give the urine tests. If it is questionable , you tell them, and they will have to send it to a lab that will be able to look for the most common problem drugs - warning ..Benydrl is the culprit for MANY FALSE POSITIVES - if you take it regularly and get what you know to be one. They'll the dr and they will look for it specifically.

Doctors prescribe trazadone for sleep. The fact is its a depression med. But used for sleep also. The doc prescribed trazadone to me and it didn't do anything. Then doc gave me ambein and that has really helped. I usley take a half. If your depressed the trazadone will help, I wasn't depressed I just couldn't sleep.

B.s. Ambien doesn't come up as a false anything. I just took a test for probation today , freeeaking out over the same thing after all the nonsense I read on forums like these the day before. But I took 2 Ambien every night the past few days. Skipped the night before the test tho, and peed completely clean. Ambien is only detected when the lab is told to search for it. Or if you get blood drawn or UAs for the man. (Drug court, avertesting, DUI warrants) they always search it for everything and anything.

That was rude. You're basing this off one guy you saw detoxing 9 months later? He probably didn't wean off properly. If you wean slowly and under guidance of clinical staff, there's no reason anyone should suffer severe withdrawal. Some uncomfortability, yes of course, thats with ANY opiate. Its called Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome. The unfortunate side to harm reduction. But just because I might suffer a little doesn't mean I need to run back to that needle and dope and die. Throw away everything I worked so hard to build. F*** that. Get educated, and stop putting such a bad stigma about methadone out there! It ultimately saves damn lives. And if you have no personal experience on the issue you don't know what you are talking about at all. Fight the stigma.

Where is this information coming from? I wish I could find a legal leg to stand on. I'm in mental health court and they have forced me to stop taking 2 of my medications... please help!

Drug Court- you sign that you will not take any drugs...including RV prescribed medications. However, if there is a reason that you need to take any medication please discuss it with your Court Referral Office as they can assist and give you the answers instead of doing something stupid then going to jail. Example...my fiance is in the Drug Court Program in AL. He needs a sleep study test for night paralysis. The doctor would like him to take ambien for the study. After discussing with CRO they decided he could take it on that day and would need a note from the doctor stating the reason. He will not be allowed to take the medicine except for the study. However, by discussing the situation they were able to document it and it will not reflect negatively on his progress in the program. Communication is KEY! Don't assume...ASK...then you don't have to fear a negative outcome.

They test me for benydryl in drug court or dextro whatever stuff in it is called

Drug Court is different than regular probation...They have a lot of say in what prescription you are allowed to take, I don't know how they get away with it

No Ambien or zolpidem does not come up in a 8 or 10 panel drug test. I've taken many UA drug tests and took zolpidem or ambien the night before and it never showed up in my results. Just take as prescribed only!

I just had an incident where my urine was taken by the nurse at my PCP office. Thinking it was just a check up. I do take ambien and was told after seeing my insurance company billed $3,300.00 and looking up the code that it was a uds.The hospital (Putnum County Memorial Hospital) the received the test is 7 1/2 hours away. When I inquired I had 3-way call with ins. agent and PCP nurse to find out more. In fact ambien does not have a level and they were checking for "illicit drugs". I don't take anything else. And what they didn't know is I am an RN that works in a hospital that performs UDS's all day long. So...There is your answer. Ambien is not a narcotic and there are no tests for it.

I am responding to your question as it is the most recent question - PLEASE be careful with Ambien - my sister, grant it, did abuse it, but I just got home after having her funeral service. She became very depressed and her mind was very cloudy - I remember when Ambien first came out it was a non-narcotic, non-addictive sleeping pill!!!! In one week talking to people about my sister, five other people knew of someone who committed suicide or tried to while on Ambien. Please be careful!

If you ingest Zolpidem, the pink small circular pill which to some seem purple, the metabolic high point is the 12 hour peak spike time. Then it can take 1-3 days to clear your blood and urine test... of course the more you eat, the longer that 12 hour peak/half life will remain in the test.
