my mum was put on this drug for a water infection, only took it for two day's and was in terrible pain in her stomach, she has lost her appitite, lost two and a half stone in weight, this was seven weeks ago and thing's are not improving for her, her doctor say's the symptom's are due to her stroke which she had seven week's previous to the water infection, which we don't agree with as her appitite was very good up to taking the tablet's.
Is there anybody out there who has had or know of any body with the same side effect's, please e-mail
thank you
Dee

Trimethoprim is used to treat various types of bacterial infections. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash. Dee, loss of appetite and stomach pain have been known to occur, when someone is taking this medication.

Is she on any other medications? How is she doing, now?
