I have what I think were some type spider or some other type of insect bites 5 of them, they sort of look like a Brown Recluse bite, but not as bad. They turned into ugly open sores within a few hours, just like a Brown Recluse Spider bite would do. The doctor says the it now looks like cellulitis, that's a skin infection below the outer skin layers. So the bites went deep into the hypodermis skin layers .My doctor gave me some other type of antibiotic for 10 days 2000 mg a day. They cleared up some, but are still ugly pits, Yesterday, the doctor gave me the SMT 800/160 drugs. Take 2 per day, for 10 days. Hello, I have been given this antibiotic (sulfameth/trimethoprim 800/160) for a uti and yeast infection. I also had blood in my urine. I have been having horrible headaches all day and night long, feeling like im going to vomit, and been very tired! But my main question is... Could this medication cause a false positive on a pregnancy test? Or could it be the blood in my urine? I am almost sure I am not pregnant. I took sulfamethoxazole trimethoprim 800/160 mg which expired 2 years ago; but i only took half and I have had a headache all day. Can I now take ibuprofen for the headache? Since the Sulfamethoxazole/Trimethoprim is an antibiotic, why did you only take half of it? Given that it was also expired, that would likely not be an appropriate dose to treat an infection. I am taking the antibiotic suflameth/trimethoprim. Can a have a couple glasses of wine with dinner? ## It is generally not advised, because it can cause a worsening of the side effects, so you could find yourself dealing with severe nausea, diarrhea, dizziness and etc. It's basically taking one drink and making seem as if you'd drunk two instead and so on and since the effects of the antibiotic will still be in your system, some issues may linger for a day, or two afterwards. I've been on sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim 800/160mg for a while. I was told it would clear up an infection I have in my gums. I've been on it noticing red spots as if somebody bruised me on my arms and the urinating thing, I noticed a couple people have mentioned that it caused problems urinating very slow and not emptying your bladder. I'm believing from other people's complaints that this company is just not taking it seriously as the same complaints have been arising and the answers they give are brushed off.
