Trileptal Side Effects

I have taken Trileptal for many years to treat trigeminal neuralgia. My legs become very heavy in the afternoon and evening. There is no swelling. They also are constantly cold. I also have Raynaud's so I always have cold hands and feet.

I've just been put on Trileptal and am having nausea and vomiting. Does this last for weeks or does it go away? Please tell me that it goes away soon. I can't keep anything down and have no appetite.

To the OP, what do you mean by your legs becoming very heavy? Are they weak? Is it hard to walk? Are you becoming dizzy?

The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and mood changes.

Mary, that is not a listed side effect. What has her pediatrician advised?

Side effects are usually transient and should go away, one your body gets to the medication, but that may take 4 to 5 weeks, has there been any change?

Could be hyponatremia due to the trileptal.
Symptoms are:

Nausea and vomiting.
Headache.
Confusion.
Loss of energy and fatigue.
Restlessness and irritability.
Muscle weakness, spasms or cramps.
Seizures.
Coma.
