Hello, I did not take the placebo pills this month and thought yesterday was Thursday instead of today so I took my pill a day early. Do I still take it tonight and just start on Wednesdays moving forward? ## Yep, you can do that, unless your doctor directs otherwise. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, PMS-like symptoms and spotting. Is there anything else I can help with?

I got my period last month first 2days where heavy like normal the last3 where super light this month im on my day4 of sugar pill still no period im cramping like my period is post to br coming on my period tracker says im post to start my period on the the 13th which is when i take my active pill could i be pregnant since it hasn't come on wit the sugar pill ## If you haven't missed any active pills, then pregnancy is not very likely, but if you're concerned, then you should have yourself checked to be sure. Some women stop getting periods, while taking oral contraceptives, or occasionally skip and it's generally nothing to worry about. As to the period tracker, it seems like it's not factored in that you're taking this oral contraceptive, because once you'r...

I have been on Tri-Pre for awhile now. I didn't want to have my period this month so I skipped the week of sugar pills. I started bleeding a little on Wednesday and it is now Monday and I'm still bleeding. Is this going to stop? It's really light, but annoying and thought I was skipping my period by going right to the new pack. ## Hello, Madi! How are you? It should stop, but it may take a few weeks. By not giving your body that weeks break, you've basically created a hormonal imbalance, skipping the placebo pills doesn't always work for everyone. When I was younger and taking an oral contraceptive, I always spotted, if I tried. If it doesn't stop in a few weeks, or gets heavier, you should consult your doctor. The FDA lists other typical side effects as possibly...

In past months if I accidentally missed a pill, I would double up the next day, but then would have violent pains and vomiting. This past month, I accidentally missed a pill and decided to avoid the extreme illness (since I was probably throwing up the dose anyway), and I skipped the one I missed and went on to the next one. My period came a week early, and I have had spotting ever since, and now have an acne flare up. What does this mean and what should I do? ## Hello, Sue! How are you? That is normal, if you miss a tablet. As listed by the FDA, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache and PMS-like symptoms. It may take a month, or so, for your hormones to balance back out and for things to return to normal. It's generally nothing to worry about, unless your doctor think...

Can you start the pill at anytime or do you have to wait till you start your period? ## Hello, Marie! How are you? You can start any time, but if it's not on the first or second day of your period, they will not be immediately effective. You'll need to wait a full 7 days, before they will reach their efficacy level in your body to prevent pregnancy, which means no unprotected intercourse, until the 8th day. However, if you start the first or second day of your period, then they will be immediately effective, since they can prevent ovulation form occurring. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, breakthrough bleeding and PMS-like symptoms. I am a Sunday starter and usually take my pills around 11am. I wasn't able to stay my new pack until Monday around 8 pm. I took both Mondays and Sundays pills (2 pills) at 8pm Monday. Do i need a backup contraception? Would this be considered missing two pills? ## Hello, Jessie! How are you? No, that would just be considered missing one and late for the other, so you shouldn't need any backup, unless your doctors feels otherwise. However, to be cautious, you could use a backup method for 7 days to be sure. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, breakthrough bleeding and weight gain. Hi! I've been taking Tri-prev for some time now. I am about 3 pills away from starting the sugar pills but I want to skip my period. Is it ok if, after those last 3 pills, I can just start a new pill pack in order to keep me from getting my period? ## Hello, HT! How are you? Yes, it is safe to do that, as long as your doctor approves. Many women do, in order to skip their periods when an important event or vacation is coming up. However, there are no guarantees that it will work. Hello! The past 6 months have been absolutely crazy for me, my mother passed away from ovarian cancer and my dad is in hospice care for Alzheimer's. I have been having a very difficult time remembering pills. I thought I was finally on schedule this month, but got my pack mixed up with another half completed pack. So, on top of missing pills and trying to catch up... I am not even sure what pack is the pack I should be on or where I should be in my cycle. Very confusing. :( I have had spot bleeding for the past couple of days, while taking active pills. I currently do not need BC to protect myself from pregnancy as my boyfriend is out of town. I will not be seeing him until the end of this month, 3 1/2 weeks from now. If at all possible, I would like to avoid any PMS and my period a...

Ok, so I had a tubal ligation a few years ago and my cycles went crazy. I asked my doctor to put me on something to regulate me before my Hysteroscopy and Uterine Ablation. I am supposed to start my cycle next week in the middle of a vacation that I never ever have. I really really don't want to be on my period during a romantic getaway. What would happen if I started taking the Previfem now? 6 days before my cycle? Is it possible that I won't be on my period? I'm 33, 2 kids... Thank you! ## Hello, Michelle! How are you? Yes, it is possible that doing that might skip or delay your period and there's no harm in it, if your doctor approves. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, breakth...

if i drink alcoho taking this pill can i get prego? ## Hello, Mayra! How are you? No, alcohol is not known to alter the efficacy of oral contraceptives. However, indulging in alcohol while taking it may cause you to experience more side effects than usual, so you may feel more dizzy, drowsy, nauseous and irritable than usual, as listed by the FDA. You should also check with your doctor to make sure that it is safe for you to imbibe. Is there anything else I can help with?

I just got off of my period & I'm ready to start a new pack. My pharmacy switched me to Tri-Previfem and I don't know which pill to take or which week to start with without starting my period again. Can someone please explain how I start this new pack and which week is which? ## Hello, Farrah! How are you? I'm sorry about the confusion and am happy to clear this up for you. According to the manufacturers website, you should start with the first pill of week one and then continue as your normally would. Hello, I have been on Tri-sprintec for almost 2 years, and this past month my Rx service changed to Tri-Previfem. My concern is that i just started my period today (saturday) and i am supposed to start my new pill pack tomorrow (sunday) i just feel like i did not really have a period yet. Now i am wondering if i should not start the new pill pack and just let my period finish??? please help! ## Your period will finish its natural course even if you take the pills and for proper protection against pregnancy, you should start them on the normal day you are supposed to. Tri-Previfem and Tri-Sprintec both contain the same ingredients, your pharmacy service was probably just able to obtain the new one cheaper than the previous. Some common side effects you may experience can include: nausea,...

My period started on September 27th, 2014. I took the tri-previfem pill today Monday,October 6th, 2014 and accidently skipped yesterday Sunday Oct. 5th. I started taking the first Monday pill today since I missed yesterday, which was Sunday. How should I take the pills now? Should I just take the remaining 1st weeks pills skipping yesterday's pill, which I have not taken and start on the 2nd week's pill starting this Sunday? Will it affect my period and will it still prevent me from getting pregnant? ## Hello, Vicky! How are you? You actually should have started taking them the first day of your period to be immediately protected from pregnancy. Since you started later in your cycle and missed a tablet, you'll need to take the active tablets for a full 7 days, before you wil...

Hi, I am trying to time my period to finish before my wedding on October 4th! I have been taking tri-previfem for several months, and have it scheduled out the I would be on my period during that same week of my wedding. Can I adjust the order I take the pills to have my period a week earlier?! I am on my period now, I usually bleed from Wednesday to Sunday. I actually had some spotting this period prior to starting the placebo week. Any thoughts or suggestions? ## Hello, Katie! How are you? Congratulations on the wedding! Yes, it is safe to do that, unless your doctor gives some reason why you shouldn't. Many women do it to get control of when they have their period, to avoid having it on special occasions, or to skip their periods altogether. Is there anything else I can help with?

I had my period on Sunday 1/19/2014. I got my pills (tri-previfem) today. Can i start today? I am reading so many different things. ## Hello, Rebecca! How are you? You can start them at any time! Your cycle will adjust accordingly. However, if you start them any time past the 2 day of your period, you will need to take them for a full 7 days, without forgetting any, before you are protected from pregnancy, so for that first week, you'd need to use a backup method of contraception. However, if your doctor has provided you with other instructions, then please disregard what I've said and follow them. Is there anything else I can help with?
