severe reaction to this medicine. Dr. decided to give this med to mom in law. Her pressure in her eyes were slightly elevated, but she was complaining of blurry vision and headaches without much cause or symptoms. The night she used the drops, she was in so much pain in her eyes, burning, stinging, and then of course a pounding head ache. The next day she could not touch her lids to wash her face. So tender. Of course she was told to stop the drops, but wondered if anyone has had any reactions or side effects no matter how small to this eye drop? Thanks.

While I don't have any personal experience with this drug, I do want to mention that "she" experienced pretty much every common and severe adverse effect that this medication can induce.

Common side effects of Travatan (Travoprost Ophthalmic) can include:

eye pain or irritation
blurred vision
dry eyes
eye tearing
headache

More serious side effects that need to be reported to your doctor can include:

sensitivity to light
abnormal vision
pink eye
redness or swelling of the eyelid

"Travoprost eye drops may change the color of your eye (to brown) and darken the skin around the eye. It may also cause your eyelashes to grow longer and thicker and darken in color. These changes usually occur slowly, but they may be permanent. If you use travoprost eye drops in only one eye, you should know that there may be a difference between your eyes after using travoprost eye drops. Call your doctor if you notice these changes."

I hope this information helps!

2 weeks of taking this drop I got a severe sinus headache, pin and needle feeling in both eyes, my eyes looked horribly bloodshot and 20 minutes after putting in drops my head felt like the veins in my brain were expanding or constricting and felt weird. I continued to have blurry vision and felt worse than when I went into the eye dr office. My eyes felt like on fire and very dry which I had to also put eye drops to moisten eyes from being too dry...

dorzolomine and timolol-or however you spell them--burns my outside lid and under eye....like acid. also I think it is the travatan that gives me pounding headaches-probably lowers blood pressure too fast or something?
and
when you put in ANY drops, head back in prone position, very carefully put drop into eye...Don't Spill it onto skin. wash skin. you just have to be very very careful with drops.
