Tramadol - Unable To Acheive Orgasm (Page 11)

Anyone else experiencing this side effect? Not a normal topic of discussion for me with anyone but my doctor. I found this drug to be very helpful with easing pain, no sedating effect, BUT after taking this medication discovered I was unable to acheive orgasm. It took me a while to figure out it was the Tramadol causing the problem.

I am sorry to say, this is wrong. Your body does not resume libido upon acclimating to this medication.

I've had a lot of the same issues as all of you when I take tramadol. I got it for lower back issues. When on it there are times when it takes forever to climax and others where I can't even stay hard. This happens up to 3 days after I stopped. I thought something was wrong with me!

Same problem here. Have had surgery on my lower spine three times now but still have to take pain meds, pregabalin, naproxen and tramadol. we used to have a fantastic sec life. I'm a 55yr old female, very high sex drive previous to taking Tramadol. Now I wouldn't be bothered if I never had sex again for the rest of my life, no sex drive at all, I do it for my partner who has a high sex drive too. We used to have so much fun even with me having this back problem, I still wanted sex. But now I can't climax at all no matter what he does to me. He's very understanding and will try all kinds of ways to satisfy me, but nothing happens at all. It's as though someone has turned a switch off in my brain and I HATE it. At the moment it's not causing any problems in our relationship as I am very attentive to his needs as I always have been. But I think I will try coming off Tramadol but am so worried how I will be able to cope with the pain. I also have Fibromyalgia/chronic pain all over my body. I would love to be able to feel that wonderful sensation an orgasm gives you. But I fear I may never be able to achieve one ever again. Having read all these posts I will now try and stop Tramadol and try and cope with the pain and maybe go back to the doc for an alternative pain reliever.

Dear friends, I took tramadol for more than 5 years and the dose was 4-5 tabs / day. I am going to tell you a wonderful regimen. first take some sertraline 50 mg for about 1 week to boost your serotonin levels. then add Baclofen 2 tabs to times daily, clonazepam 1 tab at night and loperamide 3-4 tabs two times daily. No withdrawal sysmptoms. try this.

Totally not true, for all Borderline Personality Disorder persons are not the same. I do admit that what works for one person, may not for another. Tramadol is the Best, and only medication that has ever helped me with BPD. It has literally saved my life. It has an SSRI effect, along with the Central Nervous System altering properties. It helps to minimize the ups and downs, and takes away most of the constant fear, and worry that I experienced before taking it. I figured out early on, that for me, less is better. 50mg a day is all it takes. I initially started out taking 200 mg. a day, and after about 2 weeks, I stopped experiencing the effect. So I thought, maybe the dosage was causing me to build up a tolerance like ALL narcotics do. So, instead of abandoning the medication, I decided to try to minimize the dosage, and to my surprise, it kicked back in, and in fact, the effect is better than at the beginning. What other narcotic medication works better at a low dosage? Maybe it's my particular metabolism, or genetics, but all I know is it has made the difference between me being completely insane, and functioning as close to a normal person, as I could have ever hoped for. Obviously what works for me, might not for the next person, but we shouldn't make the broad statement that it doesn't work for ANY person suffering with BPD.

Same issue. Lost sex drive after being on Tramadol for over 3 years. Husband tried everything to get me to have an orgasm. I went off Tramadol and after about 8 days completely off Tramadol my ability to have an orgasm came back and my sex drive is coming back. No problem with orgasm's now. It's like night and day. A miracle. CBD oil is a great alternative to Tramadol and helps even better with my chronic back pain.

My doctor prescribed me tramadol/tramacet. I got less aroused by day 3 using it. When i got an erection it did not last long. I felt a bit aroused and suddenly all the sensitivity was as if it disappeared. Also when i felt to a degree my arousal building up, suddenly there was just nothing and no aroused feelings.

It's been just about 6 years for me and about 3 years ago it started and it's been hell for me emotionally and relationship wise, I don't know what to do cause without it physically my life is hell. And I've tried going down doses to see if less helps and nope still no drive or even want for it.

The fact that you can climax so quickly on your own just says that you know what works for you. Be open and honest with your partner. Tell him what to do and where to go to do it. Trust me, men don't mind a little direction.

Hello everyone, I'm from the Netherlands and ended up here because I have the same complaint and because I have severe stomach pain now I'm using another brand.

I used Tramadol PCH HCL from Pharmachemie for about 15 yrs. approx 8-9 per day of 50 mg. I had NO problems with my libido. Now I use Tramadol HCL Auro Actavis for about 3 weeks and I'm almost totally frigid. From being able to climax once per day/other day I'm lucky if I can achieve it once a week, and that with lots of effort. Somehow I can't get a fantasy to work, can't hold on on images and it seems like I'm numbed between my legs or something, There's just no sensation. And if I'm close then I can lose it within a second. I also notice I just don't have any desire. Plus some other side effects like I'm sweating like crazy now; this is a horrible brand and I'd rather stop with Tramadol than go on like this. So, maybe it's dependent on which brand you use?

It's irritating that this side effect isn't even mentioned in the list of possible side effects from the manufacturer. Well, Tramadol in general is misunderstood by most of the Healthcare and doctors here if it comes to side effects and withdrawal symptoms.

I am so sorry to here that you are going though this but you are not alone I am going though the same thing and thought I was alone I feel like I should stop taking this medicine but I am in so much pain and it helps but I also itch a lot after taking it and get bad headaches the doctor stated I should take another pain pain with this medication I am very confused

I find I get extremely aroused when taking tramadol but experience my genitals shrinking to a tiny size and am unable to get erect or climax.

I stop taking it for three days and found that my life went back to normal. This medication is very dangerous it also cause bad I mean very bad headaches. Be very careful.

Omg. I have the same issue...This stuff sucks. Agreed it helps tremendously with my back pain but as for sexual performance I have none at all anymore. And prior to tramadol I was a sexaholic . And my wife and I trying to have kids

I take tramadol and my genitals have shrunk, but when I stop taking it everything goes back to normal.

Please if you can STOP taking it only take it as needed not all the time. It also causes sleepness night for me but be very careful no doctor tell you about this side affect at all so try that remedy and see what happenes GOOD LUCK
