Toprol Xl 50 Mg Cause Insomnia?

Does Toprol XL 50 MG produce insomnia for anyone? I am taking it at night and HCT(Diovan) 160/12.5MG in the morning. Could taking both be the reason?

I would like to say that my doctor put me on toprol xl because I just found out this year I have a generic heart problem. My dad found out he has it and his mom does to. I have to say this medicene helps me because I kept blacking out and found out why. The doctorsaid that it was my built in pace maker he said that if he did surgery to give me another pace maker it would only make me worse. I have to thank you for putting this web site on the internet because it helps me understand toprol xl better than what I thought.

Toprol xl I am using for high blood pressure control. I have pacemaker also but meds have nothing to do with pacemaker.??

I've been on Toprol XL 50 mg for several years. Sometimes I have bad nightmares but I never connected them to Toprol. Do you really think they could be related?

Why do you take Toprol at night? I take it a night also, even though my doctor wants me to take it in the morning. I take it at night because I am usually home in case of side effects.

I take Toprol XL 50mg [or the generic equivalent, Metoprolol, in the moring. I take 40mg of Diovan at night. I sleep well until 3 am, I go to the bathroom then toss and turn for an hour and usually get back to sleep. Didn't know these beta blockers had that side effect. If you really need to get a good night's sleep before an active day for instance, take Tylenol PM. It works for me.

I take it in the morning everyday and noticed that when I started this medication I wake up every night at 3 as well. I am also experiencing random people in my room, i know they are not there but it is bizarre and scares me. Please tell me someone else is having this issue as I am at wits end and am afraid of sleeping. Is it the medication? I know I am not crazy but I am scared. Please help.
