I took Topiramate for seven days. On the eighth day I had pressure that went up to 60 and 70 in my eyes and ended up in the hospital. They couldn't figure out what was wrong. It took them eight hours to figure out the problem. I was blind for three days. Developed ocular angular closure glaucoma. Ended up with cataracts in both eyes two eyes surgeries and now permanently dilated eyes. Cannot drive at night anymore light outside is very painful and has reduced my quality of life.
Would love to find an attorney that would be willing to take on the hospital and the drug company.
It's so unfair when these things happen to you and nobody has to pay for them but you.

Hello, Tiger6! How are you? I am very sorry about what happened.

Unfortunately, you most likely do not have a case, since vision problems/eye problems are listed as being known side effects of this medication and the FDA does list them as being a risk of taking it. Such law suits are generally only valid, when such an issue has not been disclosed. When they are disclosed, however, it is considered a risk that you accept, by taking the medication in question.

I know this doesn't help you and I am very sorry about that. I am just letting you know how the laws usually work for medications.

Has anyone else experienced such issues?

I understand eye issues such as ocular angular closure glaucoma . No where did it say my pupils would be dilated for ever and the tissue around my irises would be dead .
If only the hospital figured it out earlier maybe the damage would have not been so colossal.
Also I never had cataracts before I had this incident so I think the cataracts are also caused by the medicine and the time wasted at the hospital .

I think you are being told incorrectly. I basically participate in legal cases Asa living, and I highly urge you to seek counsel.... it's free after all, the worst you are going to hear is no! But, if you can seek out damages then all the better right!? I swear I have seen this particular drug name on suits before! Check it out, no harm in it!
