Topamax Caused Problems

I was on this drug for a long time for a mood disorder. I kept complaining of shortness of breath on small amounts of excersise. My eyes started to droop and I couln't breath. The Dr. diagnosed me with Myathesia Gravis. I was on oxygen and palnning to die early. They gave me IVIG therapy and this didn't work. Finally after taking medications for this supposed ilness for 6 months aqnd having reactions to the meds, the neurologist finally said that the Topamx could be causing the symptons of Mya thesia Gravis. I stopped taking the medicine and I can breath and do all sorts of things now.

I was put on this medication 3 1/2 yrs ago for a seizure disorder. It worked well for about 9 mos. started having more and longer seizures. then jan 2005 had 7 in a row. I had speech problemsdysarthria, cognitive fatigue, short term memory loss, coordination problems 1st on left side, then the right. weakness on right side total loss of control. Thought process slow. Depression, anxiety, obsessive behaivors. All tests inconclusive. I talked my neurologist into weaning me off the meds. Now I can talk better, coordination better, mood better. 13 mos of hell, and the Doctor increasing my dose before taking me off of it!

I just started taking topamax 10/10/06 my doctor put me on it for weight loss and depression he started me out on 100mg for a week and now i'm up 200mg at bed time. The only major side-effect I have had is tingling of the feet and hands. I will keep you guys posted

I took Topamax for exactly 7 days. On the seventh day, I got acute narrow angle glaucoma and could barely see. There are numerous reported cases of this happening. Please educate yourself on the horrible side effects of this drug.
